Meet Dr. Scholl

Hayley Scholl, MD, FACOG was previously a clinical instructor in the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. During her residency, Dr. Scholl was chosen by her faculty and peers to serve as Chief Resident. She also served on the Memorial Health Wellness Committee, where she helped identify and address resident concerns. Additionally, she was a Resident Lecturer within the South University Physician Assistant Program, lecturing on topics in women's health to physician assistant students, and served as the Research Lead for the Program Improvement Project for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In June 2021, Dr. Scholl was recognized with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. She was recognized by the faculty for excellence in gynecology upon graduation from residency. Dr. Scholl is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Meet Dr. Bukkapatnam

Jayasri Bukkapatnam, MD, is an OB/GYN serving patients in Atlanta, Georgia. She joined the team at Atlanta Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates in April 2015.

Dr. Bukkapatnam is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she received a Bachelor of Science in biology. After receiving her medical degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies (WPHfWB). She was named Assistant Director of Medical Education OBGYN at WPHfWB in 2010, where she was responsible for staffing inpatient labor and delivery, gynecology and triage, as well as the outpatient gynecology clinic. While there, Dr. Bukkapatnam also taught and managed residents and medical students.

She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Bukkapatnam is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is affiliated with Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

Meet Dr. Beesley

Anne Beesley, MD, is an OB/GYN in Atlanta, Georgia. She joined the team at Atlanta Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates in August 2019.

Dr. Beesley was raised in Peachtree City, Georgia. After graduating magna cum laude from Mercer University Macon, Georgia, she earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Beesley completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Greenville Health System, affiliated with the University of South Carolina, where she served as chief administrative resident.

During her residency, Dr. Beesley was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society. She also received recognition from the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, as well as the Golden Apple Teaching Award, the John V. Dacus Award for Excellence in Obstetrics, and departmental honors for her resident research.

Dr. Beesley is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Dr. Beesley lives in Buckhead with her husband, 2 sons, and dog. She enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.

Meet Dr. Little

Lauren M. Little, MD, FACOG is an OB/GYN in Atlanta, Georgia. She is proud to serve patients at Atlanta Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates.

Dr. Little was born and raised near Boulder, Colorado. She completed her undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in anthropology and biomedical sciences.

After receiving her medical degree at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center, affiliated with Mercer University, in Savannah, Georgia. During her residency, she served as the Administrative Chief Resident for the hospital and received recognition from the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine for her work in obstetrics.

During her training, Dr. Little became involved in Junior Fellow leadership for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, holding the title of Georgia Section Vice-Chair. She has been involved in lobbying for maternal health at the state and national levels. She has authored publications on topics involving enhanced recovery at the time of cesarean sections and placental pathology related to preeclampsia.

Dr. Little has a broad interest in general OB/GYN and is especially passionate about fostering long-term relationships with her patients.

She resides in Buckhead with her fiancé and English cocker spaniel puppy. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, cycling, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

Meet Dr. Samaddar

Julia Samaddar, MD, MPH, FACOG is a board-certified physician serving patients in Atlanta, Georgia providing obstetrics and gynecology services to the Georgia community. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta, Dr. Samaddar went on to earn a Master of Public Health and Health Informatics from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Dr. Samaddar completed her medical education at the Medical College of Georgia where she received a Doctor of Medicine degree. As she was drawn to surgery and Ob/Gyn care, Dr. Samaddar continued her education at the Medical College of Georgia where she completed her residency in Ob/Gyn. She's received training in high-risk obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, gynecology oncology, and urogynecology. In addition to her medical training, Dr. Samaddar has been in several publications relating to breast cancer and antiestrogen resistance. Additionally, Dr. Samaddar is trained in minimally invasive gynecological procedures including the da Vinci® Surgical System. She continued her career at a prominent Ob/Gyn practice at Emory University Midtown Hospital where she also served as a Clinical Professor to help train the next generation of physicians. Dr. Samaddar continues to strive beyond industry standards to provide the best treatments and knowledge to her patients and is always up to date with the latest literature and advanced care methodologies. Outside of the office, Dr. Samaddar is married with two children, a dog, and spends her time with friends and family, reading, traveling, dancing, and cooking.

She recently completed her OB/GYN residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in June 2025. During her training, Dr. Ezekwe received the Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Award from the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), as well as the Resident of the Year Award for her outstanding contributions to patient care.

Meet Dr. Umpierrez- Morley

Denise Umpierrez-Morley, MD, FACOG, is an OB/GYN who joined the team at Atlanta Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates in 2019. She is dedicated to providing women’s health care services to patients in Atlanta, Georgia.

After completing her residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York and an advanced pelvic surgery fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Umpierrez-Morley joined the team at Atlanta Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates.

At the practice, Dr. Umpierrez-Morley provides a full range of obstetrics and gynecology services. She has a special interest in pelvic surgery, abnormal uterine bleeding, adolescent and sexual health, and contraception management. To better accommodate the diverse communities in the Atlanta-area, Dr. Umpierrez-Morley is also fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Umpierrez-Morley currently lives in Midtown with her husband, daughter, and their pet beagle. In addition to spending time with her family, she likes exercising, yoga, traveling, photography, and cooking.

Nathan Mordel, MD, is a board-certified gynecological surgeon at Atlanta Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He specializes in advanced robotic, laparoscopic, vaginal pelvic surgery, including for fibroids, endometriosis, heavy and/or painful menstrual periods, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary incontinence. 

Dr. Mordel received his medical training at Hadassah Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, graduating with a degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology. After coming to the United States, he completed a residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics and a fellowship in advanced pelvic surgery at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Dr. Mordel has been practicing in Tifton, Georgia, since July of 1998. In 2002, he came back to Atlanta, started AMIGS, and joined the Piedmont Hospital staff. In August 2011 and December 2015 he added Northside Hospital Duluth and Northside Hospital Atlanta, respectively, to his practice sites. He is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and he is a clinical assistant professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University Medical School and Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Mordel has performed thousands of robotic and laparoscopic cases - over 2,500 hysterectomies and myomectomies for uteri up to 3,000 grams (7 pounds). Certain complex cases require multispecialty participation - Dr.Mordel collaborates with robotically trained colorectal, urological and transplant surgeons.

Niambi Smith DNP, WHNP-BC is a board certified women’s health nurse practitioner with a passion for enhancing the health and well-being of her community. Niambi received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Howard University and after working in women’s services across NYC, the D.C. area, and Atlanta, Niambi obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Emory University with a specialization in women’s health. Niambi’s doctoral research focused on improving patient education materials about postpartum depression.  She is an expert in women's health.

Courtney Blue, FNP-C, RN, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered women’s health care. Originally from the Lowcountry of Charleston, South Carolina, Courtney has been caring for patients in the Atlanta, Georgia area for more than six years, bringing both clinical expertise and a warm, personalized approach to Ideal Gynecology, LLC.

Courtney earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Charleston Southern University and her Master’s degree from South University in Savannah, Georgia. She began her career in a cardiac step-down unit, where she built a strong clinical foundation caring for patients before and after open-heart surgery. This experience sharpened her attention to detail, critical thinking, and commitment to high-quality care.

She later transitioned into women’s health, where she discovered her passion for supporting women through every stage of life. Courtney focuses on delivering comprehensive care that blends medical expertise with patient education, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Xiaoyan Emma Li is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner at Ideal Gynecology, LLC. Xiaoyan is dedicated to supporting women throughout Atlanta, Georgia, in their health care.

Xiaoyan Li completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Kennesaw State University. Inspired by her experience as a postpartum nurse, Xiaoyan decided to pursue her Master of Science in nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she specialized in women’s health. After completing her degree, Xiaoyan began working as a women’s health nurse practitioner, providing compassionate care to women across their lifespan.

Xiaoyan provides comprehensive care to gynecological clients. She enjoys taking care of women for annual exams, gynecological problems, hormonal and menopause issues, and contraception. Lillian Schapiro, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified gynecologist serving patients at Ideal Gynecology, LLC, with locations in greater Atlanta, Georgia proudly serving the communities of Stockbridge, Conyers, Locust Grove, Hampton, Covington, Jackson, Buckhead, Vinings, Smyrna, Roswell, Alpharetta, Midtown, and Sandy Springs, GA. A real 'people person,' Dr. Schapiro enjoys the fact many of her patients have been with her for years. In addition to staying on top of the latest changes in recommendations for preventive care, she is a leader in offering her patients the most advanced care. Dr. Schapiro has called Atlanta home for over 20 years. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University. She graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine with Honors in Obstetrics and Gynecology and was awarded an International Fellowship to work at a hospital in Kenya. She completed her residency at UNC Chapel Hill, where she served as Chief Resident. Always interested in preventive medicine, she published her research on cervical cancer screening in Bali, Indonesia.

A global women's health advocate, Dr. Schapiro has practiced around the world. As a medical student, she wrote a paper comparing obstetric outcomes in a rural hospital in Kenya with a hospital in the Bronx, New York. As a Chief Resident, she published her original research on cervical cancer screening in Bali, Indonesia. More recently, she received the Caring for Congo Award from the Dikembe Mutombo Foundation for gynecologic surgery performed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  Dr. Schapiro was the U.S. leader for Projet Myome and has been on three missions to the DRC helping women with fibroids and training local doctors. She has also trained physicians and birth attendants in Nepal.

Dr. Schapiro believes that every patient is unique, and she enjoys discussing their concerns and coming up with a treatment plan together. Her specialties include irregular bleeding, heavy periods, fertility problems, fibroids, pelvic pain, endometriosis, and incontinence.

Dr. Schapiro is often called upon by CNN as well as local news outlets for her medical expertise.  She maintains a YouTube channel to educate people about women's health.

Dr. Schapiro and her husband, Robert Schapiro, are the parents of three daughters. She is the author of Tick Tock, a novel chronicling her own struggles with infertility. 

Dr. Jocelyn Slaughter, MD is a board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist who founded The Healthy Woman -a multi-specialty women's healthcare practice- in 2016. Dr. Slaughter started the practice with a focus on providing safe, comfortable and innovative healthcare for women, while promoting entrepreneurship for Physicians.

There are currently 3 offices in Gwinnett County, GA, with the official franchise and expansion starting in the summer of 2023. Originally from Chicago, Dr. Slaughter received her baccalaureate in 2004 from Howard University, and her doctorate of Medicine from the University of Chicago Pritzker School in Medicine in 2008.

She then ventured to Atlanta, GA to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Grady Memorial Hospital under the Morehouse School of Medicine (c/o 2012). She is a mother of three daughters, ages 9, 5 and 1, and will be celebrating 10 years of marriage with her husband Benjamin Moore this summer.

Dr. Twyner grew up in Pass Christian, Mississippi – a quaint, coastal community on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with a laid-back vibe and a strong commitment to camaraderie and hospitality. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry graduating Summa Cum Laude from Xavier University. After her family relocated to Atlanta due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she chose to complete her medical training at Emory University School of Medicine and Rollins School of Public Health earning a MD and MPH degree simultaneously. She completed Obstetrics and Gynecology at Morehouse School of Medicine serving as the Administrative Chief Resident in 2017. Since then, she has practiced General Obstetrics and Gynecology with special interests in family planning, fertility management, peri-menopause and menopausal conditions and minimally invasive surgery techniques. She emphasizes passionate, patient-centered care and seeks to improve the disparities in care for women and minorities within the medical community. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy exploring eateries in the metro-Atlanta area and traveling.

Dr. Ayaba Worjoloh-Clemens is dedicated to improving the lives of women by providing compassionate, evidence-based, and collaborative care.  With genuine concern for the whole woman, she strives to hear each patient’s story and partner with her on the wellness journey.  Dr. Clemens has many years of experience in different patient settings.  She is happy to relocate to Georgia to be closer to extended family and to align her passions with the mission of The Healthy Woman.

Dr. Clemens is a board-certified obstetrician gynecologist.  After graduating from Stanford University, she earned her medical degree from Duke University and her Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. In 2012, she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of California San Francisco.  She is proud of her medical work and teaching in Mexico, Tanzania, Kenya and Liberia.

Charis Trench-Simmons, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN with ample medical experience and a true commitment to the field of women’s health care. At Prestige Healthcare OBGYN in Atlanta, Dr. Trench-Simmons works with her husband, Lorenza Simmons, MD, and skilled health professionals to serve women as they transition through all stages of life. Dr. Trench-Simmons offers an array of proven-successful aesthetic, gynecological, and obstetrical services.

After completing her undergraduate degree at the Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, Dr. Trench-Simmons obtained her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. She then continued her education with a residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Tulane University in New Orleans and the WellStar Atlanta Medical Center.

For three years, Dr. Trench-Simmons served as a lieutenant commander and general medical officer in the United States Navy. She’s a prominent member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

While visiting a friend who had recently returned home from New Mexico, Ellen felt the call of midwifery for the first time as a young woman entering the adult world around forty years ago. This friend had practiced Midwifery with Traditional Hispanic midwives, the Curandera-parteras. These traditional Midwives played a vital role in Ellen’s understanding of the underserved mothers and babies of Northern New Mexico. Her heart thrilled as she listened to the stories of the mothers bringing life into the world into the sacred hands of Curandera-parteras who served this underserved region for many years.

After much prayer and contemplation Ellen decided to follow the path of Midwifery through Nursing. She lived and was raised in Nashville, Tennessee and completed her A.D. in nursing in 1988, followed by her BSN in 2009. Ellen went to work as a labor and delivery nurse at the old Metro General Hospital, which is now closed, formerly located on the Cumberland River. A team of Nurse-Midwives served the women at the Metro General, and again, Ellen heard the strong call of midwifery on her life.

Ellen worked as a labor and delivery, post-partum, normal newborn and high risk newborn nurse for over 25 years. During this time, she raised her own family and continued her education as her children obtained theirs.

In 2011 Ellen had the opportunity to return to school, and now, after many years of working as a RN and raising her family, the call of Midwifery came to her again. She was able to enter Frontier School of Nurse-Midwifery and Family Nursing, founded by Mary Breckenridge. Ellen earned her MSN from The Frontier School of Nurse Midwifery in 2014 and went on to become a certified nurse midwife, fulfilling this lifelong dream and call.

Ellen again remembered the night with her friend years ago. The stories of birthing mothers, under the vast New Mexico desert sky, rich, misty, painfully blue and purple and the love, skill, dedication and healing of the Curandera-parteras. She remembered the first call within her spirit to a path of Midwifery.
Ellen has a deep belief that all birth is a sacred, spiritual experience for each mother and family and should be treated with respect and reverence. She believes in Shared Decision Making, Informed Consent, and Partnering with women. She has a long history of working in a hospital setting but has also attended home births in the traditional setting.

Fun Fact: Ellen recalls that she was born in Marietta Ga and when she was a small child she has fun memories of her family calling her a “Georgia Peach.”
Ellen is excited to return to Georgia, join the team at Providence Women’s Health Care and serve Georgia, where she was born.
