Dr. Marjon Mobasseri grew up in Ohio and graduated from Case Western Reserve University where she studied Biomedical Engineering. She earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, after which she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
In addition to providing the full range of obstetric and gynecologic services, Dr. Mobasseri is active in research and community wellness projects. With each patient visit she strives to provide an environment of comfort and cooperation, and she looks forward to delivering optimal care to you.
In her free time, Dr. Mobasseri enjoys spending time with family and traveling. In addition to English, she is fluent in Persian.
Ellen received her undergraduate degree in molecular biology from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. She earned her masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.
Upon completing a post graduate Emergency Department Fellowship, she transitioned into OBGYN to follow her passion for Obstetrics and Women's Health. She places emphasis on health education, preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment of women to have a positive impact on their lives.
Ellen is originally from Upstate New York. In her free time she enjoys playing field hockey, hiking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family.
Shira Plonka is a board certified Genetic Counselor at ROSH Maternal Fetal Medicine. Additionally, she is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC); she earned her Master of Science in Human Genetics from Sarah Lawrence College. Prior to receiving her master’s, Shira received an honors degree in psychology and social work from University of Waterloo. Shira has held internships in many of New York City’s top hospitals, acquiring a broad exposure to many disciplines and specialties, including cancer and pediatric genetics.
Shira focuses on preconception and prenatal genetic counseling: carrier screening, prenatal genetic screening and diagnostic testing. She provides information about the risks of chromosome abnormalities, birth defects, genetic conditions, and teratogen exposure to individuals, couples or families. Shira is committed to informing patients about potential genetic risks, enabling them to make informed decisions for a current or future pregnancy in a supportive and non-directive environment. This process assists patients in making the best choices for themselves in the framework of their personal and cultural beliefs.

Dr. John Migotsky is a Board-certified OB/GYN, and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He comes to ROSH Maternal-Fetal medicine with 16 years of experience. After graduating from Brown University with a degree in neuroscience, Dr. Migotsky conducted research in maternal/child health and perinatal epidemiology with the Rhode Island Department of Health. He received his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Then he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Prior to his work with ROSH, he worked in private practice in Westchester, NY and was affiliated with Greenwich Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. John Migotsky is committed to providing high-quality care to patients by listening to their concerns, addressing their needs and providing insightful remedies and recommendations. He has delivered thousands of babies including many vaginal births after Cesarean section (VBAC). His team approach encompasses gynecologic oncology, infertility and urogynecology. In addition, he has comprehensive experience performing gynecologic surgery. His warm and sensitive care insures a successful outcome.
Daniel F. Roshan, MD, FACOG, FACS, specializes in maternal-fetal medicine, demonstrating an expertise in high-risk pregnancies that’s well known in New York City and beyond, as women needing chorionic villus sampling are referred to him from across the country. He truly considers it an honor to take exceptional care of his patients with high-risk pregnancies at his practice, Rosh Maternal & Fetal Medicine in the Midtown East area of New York City.
Dr. Roshan specializes in recurrent pregnancy losses, preterm labor, multiple pregnancies, thrombophilia and pregnancy, and performing cerclage procedures. He also offers experienced medical care for women faced with chronic disease during pregnancy.
After receiving his medical degree from Tel Aviv University, Dr. Roshan then received residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He’s board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as well as the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Roshan has published over 50 research abstracts and presented original research papers at numerous scientific societies such as: The Society for Gynecological Investigation, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine.
As a practicing OB/GYN with more than 17 years of experience, Elizabeth Ramirez, MD, FACOG, is proud to provide health care to women at every stage of their lives at Jersey Women’s Care Center in Jersey City and Fair Lawn, New Jersey. At the practice, she speaks both English and Spanish.
Dr. Ramirez completed her higher education upon graduating from Universidad Central del Este, in the Dominican Republic, in 1993. From there, she emigrated to the United States and began her surgical fellowship at North Shore University Hospital, affiliated with Hofstra University, located in Manhasset, New York. She continued her residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in the OB/GYN Department, where she became the administrative chief resident.

Huiying Hou, MD, has been practicing as an OB/GYN at Jersey Women’s Care Center in Fair Lawn and Jersey City, New Jersey, since 2015. She was selected to work as an OB/GYN at Jersey Women’s Care Center from the highly prestigious Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at the Cleveland Clinic, ending her fourth year in residency in 2015.
Setting out on her path to becoming an OB/GYN, Dr. Hou started her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, and graduated with a biology/pre-med degree in 2006. From there, she went on to earn her doctor of medicine degree at MSHMC Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, in 2011.
Dr. Hou has given award-winning published presentations on subjects ranging from laparoscopic hysterectomy to endometrial cancer and bilateral salpingectomy.

Caroline Paster graduated from the Midwifery Education Program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she received the Spirit of Midwifery Award along with Clinical and Academic Excellence Awards. Caroline received her Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience and Women’s Studies from Syracuse University and completed a post-baccalaureate at New York University. Caroline previously worked as a midwife at Coney Island Hospital servicing a diverse population of patients. She was recently awarded the 2016 Outstanding Preceptor Award from the American College of Nurse Midwives. Caroline thoroughly enjoys her work in obstetrics and gynecology and is also involved in training student midwives.
Nargiza Gapparova is a board-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in gynecology and women’s health. She earned her master’s degree in science at the Long Island University in 2021. Ms. Gapparova provides the best and most gentle care to women of all ages. Under the supervision of board-certified gynecologist, Dr. Apig J. Mosses, Ms. Gapparova offers an array of services ranging from annual GYN exams, abnormal pap smears, sexually transmitted diseases, urinary tract infections, and much more. Edward Chan, MD, of Mott Women Healthcare is a compassionate and diligent OB/GYN serving the Chinatown community of New York City. Mohamed Esiely, MD is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist serving the Hoboken community at his practice Health Wise Women in New Jersey.
Before immigrating to the United States, Dr. Esiely was a physician in Egypt where he received his medical degree from Cairo University. As an attending physician, he focused his skills on keeping students knowledgeable as they studied, lectured, and traveled the world.
In the United States, Dr. Esiely completed his residency at New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he was chief resident. He became a certified practitioner of the da Vinci® surgical system in 2012, a robotic system used to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Dr. Esiely established Health Wise Women in 2010. In his more than 20 years practicing medicine, he has received numerous awards, including the Laparoscopic Surgery Award and Resident Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Egyptian Ministry of Health also selected Dr. Esiely for the Family Planning Program Award, and he won first prize for a case report at New York Medical College’s Annual Resident Research Day.
Dr. Esiely is a member of the Egyptian Obstetrics and Gynecology Association, as well as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In his free time, Dr. Esiely enjoys reading, playing squash, and using computers. He’s fluent in both Arabic and English.
Teresa Cheon, MD, FACOG, is a talented and passionate OB/GYN at NY Midtown OB/GYN. Dr. Cheon provides high-quality care from offices in midtown Manhattan, New York City and the town of Mamaroneck in Westchester County, New York.
Dr. Cheon proudly carries on the family tradition of Obstetrics and Gynecology, following in the footsteps of her father, an obstetrician/gynecologist, and her grandmother, who was one of the first certified midwives in her native country.
