She started her educational career as a IVF  technician in the laboratory when IVF was just a newly emerging technique to help couples have a child when they were otherwise unsuccessful. After realizing how much she loved working with people directly , she decided she wanted to be a Reproductive Specialist and decided to go to medical school. She graduated from medical school at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada and completed a 5-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mcmaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She then completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. Dr. Goodrow returned to Canada to take a position as Associate Professor at Mcmaster University where she enjoyed teaching medical students and residents, conducted research in infertility and provided care to couples at the Hamilton Health Sciences  IVF clinic. The opportunity arose to join one of the largest IVF practices in Toronto Canada as a partner in 2007 which she did for 14 years. During this time, she lead innovative projects at the clinic such as egg freezing for fertility preservation, utilization of fresh donor eggs and the adoption of vitrification Wishing to help couples in their fertility journey in less serviced areas outside of the big city of Toronto, Dr Goodrow then worked for a few years at a smaller clinic in Ontario.
