My approach has always been what Carl Rogers called the power of the “therapeutic relationship”, which includes: unconditional positive regard, compassion, genuineness, empathy, and congruency. We help to empower the client by encouraging them to find their own solutions, which always lie within them. One of my specialties is exploring spirituality.

Empathy is built by establishing a trusting relationship and letting the client know that you fully accept them for who they are. This relationship encourages self exploration, catharsis, and taking positive risks which foster personal growth. I would let the client know that I am there for them and they can tell me anything without judgement.

About Dr. Moreira

Jennifer Moreira, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at ThriveOB and Women's Wellness in Barrington, Illinois. Dr. Moreira has experience providing compassionate and comprehensive women’s care throughout every stage of life. She specializes in all aspects of general gynecology, focusing on minimally invasive surgery, evaluation and treatment of irregular and abnormal menstrual bleeding, abnormal Pap smears, and menopausal management.

Dr. Moreira graduated cum laude from Loyola University, Chicago, with a degree in biological psychology. Following college, she attended Ross University School of Medicine and graduated with honors. Emily Forsythe is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and women's health care provider at Yorktown Health, a multispecialty practice dedicated to compassionate, holistic, individualized care for women in Lombard, Illinois. As a midwife and nurse practitioner, Emily brings a whole-person, patient-centered approach to every visit, supporting women through every stage of life.

Daniel Rostein, MD, FACOG is an Infertility Specialist and board-certified gynecologist. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of infertility treatments, working in the Chicagoland area with offices in Oak Brook and the Midway Airport area.

Dr. Rostein is a proud native of Argentina and received his M.D. from Buenos Aires National University at FetoMaternal Hospital in Buenos Aires, where he graduated with honors.

During his fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, he focused on Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. His work during this time centered on several areas, primarily age and infertility. Ewa A. Bilinski, MD, provides caring gynecologic and obstetrics care to patients at Women for Women OBGYN, SC in Forest Glen of Chicago. She enjoys developing close bonds with her patients, and finds it very fulfilling. She knows her patients very well, and enjoys talking with women about their children, how things are going at work, and how they are feeling generally.

Dr. Bilinski completed medical school at Wroclaw Medical University in Poland. She then completed a family medicine residency at Swedish Covenant Hospital, located in Chicago, followed by an obstetrics and gynecology residency at AMITA Health Saint Joseph Hospital Chicago. Kornelia Krol, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN offering her expert care at Women for Women OBGYN, SC in Forest Glen of Chicago. Active in local, national, and international medical societies, Dr. Krol also devotes countless hours to charitable causes benefiting the Polish community in Chicago. She serves women of all ethnicities and by speaking three languages (English, Polish, and Serbo-Croatian) she is especially popular among women of Slavic origin. Maureen Tart, MD, FACOG, MSCP, is a board-certified OB/GYN.  Before joining the practice in 2011, Dr. Tart practiced in Chicago for over a decade.  She served as Co-Medical Director of her group and held the role of Vice Chair of the OB/GYN department for several years.

Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Tart moved to Chicago for her residency training and has since built a career dedicated to women’s health. She earned both her undergraduate degree in psychology and her medical degree from Georgetown University before completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago Hospitals. During her residency, she served as the academic chief resident and trained alongside Dr. Heather B. Heiberger, MD, FACOG, and Dr. Elizabeth Oh, MD, FACOG.

Dr. Tart has a special interest in adolescent health, weight management, infertility care, and menopause management. As a MSCP - Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, she is dedicated to guiding patients through every stage of life with personalized, compassionate care. She then completed her OB/GYN residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where she served as academic chief resident. Mary Faith Terkildsen, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN and AASECT-certified sex counselor at Beyond Gyne Health in Gurnee, Illinois. She is passionate about helping women feel their best at every stage of life, with a special focus on sexual wellness and menopause care.

Dr. Terkildsen earned both her undergraduate degree in psychology and neuroscience and her medical degree from Tulane University, then completed her OB/GYN residency at Northwestern University’s Prentice Women’s Hospital, where she served as administrative chief resident.

Over the years, she discovered that many women have questions about sexual health that aren’t often addressed in traditional medical care. Wanting to change that, she pursued additional training at the University of Michigan and became certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). In 2022, she launched a Women’s Sexual Health program and partnered with the Kellogg Cancer Center to support women during and after cancer treatment. Inspired by her patients’ needs, she expanded her work to include menopause and hormone therapy, earning her Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) designation in 2025.

Dr. Terkildsen is active in national organizations dedicated to women’s sexual health and serves as a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), where she contributes to the Fellowship Committee.

Outside of work, Dr. Terkildsen loves to cook, plan parties, and volunteer her time to support women and healthcare professionals running for public office. She and her husband enjoy traveling with their two adult children and spending cozy time at home with their beloved and spoiled cats, Rocky & Adrian.

Kate Nash, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist at Progressive Care for Women in downtown Chicago.

Dr. Nash is a native of Chicago and has been a part of the Northwestern University community for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University, where she was Chief Resident. She is now an attending physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Nash’s interests include uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and menopause. She is also a breast cancer survivor and has a special interest in the care of breast cancer survivors and women at high risk of breast cancer.

Outside of work, Dr. Nash enjoys staying active and cooking with her husband and two growing boys.

Dr. Matthew King is a board-certified gynecologist.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  He then completed his specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology here in Chicago at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he also served as chief resident.
 
After practicing on the east coast, Dr. King is excited to return home to Chicago and join the Progressive Care for Women team and the staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.  His goal as a gynecologist is to provide his patients with individualized evidence-based medical care so they can make informed healthcare decisions and take charge of their health.  
 
His clinical interests include LGBTQ+ healthcare, cervical dysplasia, family planning and contraceptive care, and the management of abnormal uterine bleeding with minimally invasive methods.  Dr. King has a special interest in gynecologic ultrasound and has previously given an oral presentation at the Central Association of Obstetricians / Gynecologists on the role of sonography in the diagnosis of retained products of conception.  In his spare time, Dr. King enjoys traveling the globe with his husband and family, reading anything from a fictional mystery to the latest Ob/Gyn journal, and running around the city.

Michele Hakimian, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist and co-founder at Progressive Care for Women in downtown Chicago. Dr. Hakimian brings over 20 years of experience to the practice.

Dr. Hakimian received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois, where she was named Chief Resident. She is now an attending physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Hakimian has a special interest in the menopausal transition and abnormal uterine bleeding. She is an experienced minimally invasive surgeon, including in-office hysteroscopic polyp removal and endometrial ablation. She also has advanced training in spider vein treatments.
