Dr. Brandon Chuang grew up in Irvine, CA before attending University of California San Diego. He graduated with a BS in Biology in 2013. He then earned his Doctorate of Optometry from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA in 2018.
After graduation, he pursued a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital of Brockton, Massachusetts. At his residency, he worked closely with world renowned ophthalmologists, comanaging glaucoma, dry eye, uveitis, cataracts, and retinal diseases like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. After finishing residency, Dr. Chuang returned to his alma mater as a professor, where he worked as faculty training future optometrists for 2 years before returning to Orange County.
Dr. Chuang has been described as a compassionate eyecare provider who is committed to high quality patient care. His specialty is glaucoma, but he considers himself a jack of all trades given his various clinical experiences. He also enjoys treating dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and fitting contact lenses. "It's important for me to be able to give the best level of care to all of my patients, so I stay up to date on all aspects of my clinical care and new technologies."
Outside of clinic, Dr. Chuang enjoys playing tennis, watching NBA basketball, hiking, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog.
Dr. Andrew Lee graduated cum laude and with Phi Beta Kappa honors from UCLA. He then went on to complete his medical degree at the NYU School of Medicine. After his internship in internal medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine, he went on to complete his residency in ophthalmology at the Northwell Health Eye Institute in New York where he served as chief resident in his final year. Dr. Lee then went on to receive additional training at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA where he completed a fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery.
A dedicated clinician scientist, Dr. Lee has published several papers in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals regarding topics in cornea, retina, glaucoma, and pediatric ophthalmology. Notably, he was the first to report on acute angle-closure induced by daratumumab, a monoclonal antibody used to treat relapsing multiple myeloma. He finds tremendous joy and satisfaction in improving the health of patients’ eyes, and remains at the forefront of medical knowledge and surgical skills to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Dr. Lee is a native of Irvine, and is thrilled to be back home where he can give back to the community that has given him so much.
