He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University and is currently an Attending Surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was the director of the Retinal Service. He has received awards as “Teacher of the Year” and trained many medical students who eventually became Retinal Specialists now in practice throughout the country.

Dr. Nadel is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, the British-American Retina Group, the Societe Francaise D’Ophthalmologie, the New York Society of Clinical Ophthalmology, the Committee on Continuing Medical Education and the New York County Medical Society. He has written many articles published in ophthalmic journals as well as several chapters in ophthalmic textbooks. Ben Z. Cohen, MD, founded Retina Associates of New York in 1983 in Manhattan, New York. This established the start of his mission to provide patients with personalized and focused care using the most advanced medical treatments available to address diseases of the retina.
