Dr. Brian Herschorn is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship-training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. He received both his undergraduate and his medical degrees from McGill University in Montreal. Following postgraduate medical training at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre of the University of Toronto, Dr. Brian Herschorn completed his ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania.
Fellowship training was completed at the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital, here in New York City. Dr. Herschorn became a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 1983 and has practiced ophthalmology in New York City since that time. Dr. Herschorn has almost 30 years of extensive experience on the forefront of cataract surgery and almost 10 years of experience providing LASIK and refractive surgery to the community. His unique skills in the fields of oculoplastic, orbital, lacrimal, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery have been an asset to Ophthalmology Associates of Bay Ridge since 1985, when he began his affiliation.
Dr. Brian Herschorn has published a number of scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the British Journal of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology, the journal of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Herschorn has held teaching posts at the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital and, then, at the Mount Sinai Medical Center where he is affiliated. He is also on staff at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of the Beth Israel Medical Center and through the Manhattan Eye Ear & Throat Hospital at the Lenox Hill Hospital.
Irene Rusu, MD, is a fellowship-trained surgical and medical retinal specialist at Ophthalmology Associates of Bay Ridge in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Chicago in Illinois. Dr. Rusu completed her ophthalmology residency at the New York University School of Medicine and her fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College/NY Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Rusu is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her research interests include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases. Elias Aliprandis, MD, is a fellowship-trained corneal specialist practicing at Ophthalmology Associates of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn, New York. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Jonathan Gloth, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retinal surgery specialist practicing at InVision EyeCare. He specializes in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, and uveitis.
Dr. Gloth graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He also received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence (awarded to students with a 4.0 grade-point average). He then graduated from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was inducted into the national medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and finished rigorous fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery and uveitis at Albany Medical College in New York. During his time in Albany, he was appointed a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology.
Dr. Gloth was board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2011. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Gloth’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented numerous times at national meetings.
His areas of surgical expertise include retinal detachment repair, diabetic hemorrhage evacuation, macular hole repair, and macular pucker peeling. Dr. Gloth also treats complications of cataract extraction, such as removal of retained lens fragments and intraocular lens repositioning.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Gloth is an avid sports fan. He lives on the shore and enjoys exercise, hiking, and traveling. Most of all he relishes spending time with his beautiful wife and four children.
Ashwinee Ragam, MD is board-certified and a corneal fellowship-trained ophthalmologist.
Dr. Ragam graduated summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey. She was accepted to the competitive, accelerated, seven-year BS/MD program at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she finished at the top of her class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed an ophthalmology residency as well as corneal subspecialty fellowship at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City. She was selected by her peers and mentors to become Chief Resident.
Both Dr. Ragam and her husband, an orthopaedic hand surgeon, are New Jersey natives and looked forward to returning home after training to grow their practices and raise their two sons.
Dr. Ragam performs cataract surgery, corneal procedures including full and partial-thickness (DMEK, DSEK) corneal transplantation, as well as pterygium excision. She is the first ophthalmologist in Ocean County to perform FDA-approved corneal collagen crosslinking for progressive keratoconus and post-LASIK ectasia.
Over her years in practice, Dr. Ragam has developed a strong interest in the causes of ocular surface diseases which includes dry eyes. Dr. Marc von Roemer, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, who earned his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School. After graduating medical school with honors and at the top of his class, Dr. von Roemer completed his residency training at Stony Brook University in New York, where he was selected as Chief Resident. He has been with InVision Eyecare since 2000.
Dr. von Roemer is well recognized for his outstanding medical skills. His areas of special expertise include: the treatment of macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and dry eye. Dr Marc von Roemer is the Director of the Laser Vision Center at InVision. Dr. Hedaya served as Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmic Surgery at the New York University Medical Center. He also was a certified supervisor for the LADARVision excimer laser. He specializes in non-incision laser vision correction, called PRK, on the leading-edge German engineered Allegretto Wave Eye-Q laser system. Dr. Hedaya enjoys teaching the nuance of laser vision correction as well as the LenSx cataract laser to other surgeons.
It is his nature to be intellectually inquisitive, and he is well regarded in the ophthalmic industry. He participates in many web seminars and meetings around the world. His most recent publication focused on how to optimize surgical results.

John Negrey, founding partner of Negrey Eye Associates, grew up in Havertown, son of a family practitioner.
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Negrey attended the Wharton Graduate School of Business but decided to change careers and become a physician. He received a Masters Degree in Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania and taught high school science before entering Temple University’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Negrey interned at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, then completed his military service before entering Wills Eye Hospital for his residency and fellowship in ocular plastic surgery. Before retiring from the teaching staff at both Wills Eye Hospital and Jefferson University, he had risen academically to an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. He established, also, two primary care ophthalmology offices in Havertown and Media. Dr. Negrey is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Past President of Philadelphia Ophthalmology Club, Delaware Valley Ophthalmologic Society, and Former Chief of Ophthalmology at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.
His special interest is glaucoma. He consults in all areas of ophthalmology utilizing his vast experience to provide opinions and solutions for patients with ocular problems.
Dr. Negrey’s special interests outside of ophthalmology are participating in the development of his eight grandchildren, travel, and an occasional round of golf.

He graduated summa cum laude from Boston University Medical School, and completed his Ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. After two years of fellowship training at Emory University in Atlanta, he spent two years as Assistant Professor at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Dreizen joined Southern Shores Eye Center, P.A. (formerly Erickson, Dreizen & Lee Eye Center, P.A.) in 1988. Dr. Dreizen is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has served as President of the Medical Staff at Southern Ocean County Medical Center. He is also a member of the Wills Eye Hospital Society, the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and the Society of Heed Fellows.
