Dr. Philip Worthington grew up just outside of our nation’s capital in Fairfax, VA. Dr. Worthington’s journey to dentistry and orthodontics has been unusual and rich. Following graduation from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Dr. Worthington received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the same institution. He worked for two years as a corporate attorney at a large law firm in Philadelphia, PA before deciding to apply to dental school.
After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Dr. Worthington joined the United States Air Force and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Scott AFB in Belleville, IL. He practiced for four years as a general dentist at the Travis AFB military hospital in Northern California. Following his military service commitment, Dr. Worthington moved to North Carolina and completed his Orthodontic Residency at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill in May 2020, receiving a Masters in Oral Biology.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Worthington enjoys finding new adventures to share with his three children. He is a proud resident of Durham and a fan of coffee and college athletics.

Dr. Soltmann, a native of Germany, has lived in the Triangle area since 1979. After graduating with degrees in chemistry and microbiology, she received her DDS degree from the UNC School of Dentistry.
Upon completion of her orthodontic residency from the UNC School of Dentistry, she joined the faculty at UNC Department of Orthodontics for two years. She has been treating patients in Raleigh since 1991 in her own private practice.
Concurrently, Dr. Soltmann has also been serving as adjunct faculty in the UNC Department of Orthodontics, where her main focus is the orthodontic treatment and rehabilitation of patients with cleft lip and palate.
Dr. Soltmann is an award-winning quilter. When she doesn’t sit at her sewing machine, she loves to read and participate in citizen science projects. She has two adult sons, both of whom inherited her interest in science and are aerospace engineers. Dr. Soltmann is excited about being in Roanoke Rapids and Greensboro and is looking forward to meeting everyone.

Dr. Kunnel is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He’s also a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the International Association of Dental Research, and the American Association of Orthodontics.
In addition to his clinic work at RISUS Orthodontics, Dr. Kunnel is also active in teaching the next generation of orthodontics. He’s currently an assistant professor at Northwestern University Medical School, and he has spent time teaching at Northwestern University Dental School and in the department of orthodontics at the University of Illinois and Marquette University in Milwaukee. He’s lectured at various national and international conferences of dentists and orthodontists, and he has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers.

Tuncay Teaching Fellowship Award and the National Institute of Health gave him the Clinical Scientist Award. He’s also the recipient of the Howard Hughes Award.

She received her dental training from the University of Pennsylvania and completed her orthodontic residency at the University of Washington. Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Choi first moved to California in 2013 to work for Invisalign® 's research department in San Jose, California.
Dr. Choi quickly fell in love with the Bay Area weather and lifestyle, and her husband, a native Californian, had no trouble convincing her that California would be their forever home.
She is a member of numerous honor societies as well as local and national orthodontic associations. Dr. Choi has numerous accomplishments in the field, including the publication of her own scientific research in the prestigious Angle Orthodontist journal. Dr. Choi is also very proud to have passed a rigorous peer review exam in order to become a board-certified orthodontist.

Dr. Yoram Kohanzadeh is a graduate of UMDNJ's Orthodontic program, now known as Rutgers University Hospital. He obtained both his DDS and BS from UCLA. Dr. Kohanzadeh prioritizes clear communication to make sure the best possible treatment outcome is obtained. He is energetic and greatly enjoys orthodontics and working with his patients to deliver them their unique smile and to positively reinforce their self image. He is involved with many of local programs and societies, including the AAO, PCSO and CAO. He is currently a committee member of the NYM board of the PCSO.
