Dr. Elmarsafi completed his medical school training at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2016. After completing his residency training at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, a Level 1 trauma center, he went on to complete his fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital, which afforded him the title of Assistant Professor at the Georgetown School of Medicine Department of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Elmarsafi specializes in treating all aspects of the foot and ankle. Having specialized training and expertise in complex lower extremity pathologies, he has given many national and international lectures on topics related to vascular and diabetes-related complications. In addition, he has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has co-authored several textbooks on a myriad of foot and ankle-specific subjects.
He is a highly skilled surgeon whose philosophy revolves around caring for all aspects of his patients, not only their lower extremity problems. Dr. Elmarsafi provides care to patients of all age groups, and complexity, and welcomes new patients and second opinions.
Eric S. Harmelin, DPM, is board-certified in foot surgery practicing at Annapolis Foot and Ankle Center, which has locations in Annapolis, Stevensville, and Glen Burnie, Maryland.
Dr. Harmelin grew up in South Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami. He completed a three-year surgical residency at South Miami Hospital/Baptist Health Systems in South Miami, Florida, and began private practice in 2000 in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Harmelin joined the team at Annapolis Foot and Ankle Center in 2010.
Dr. Harmelin is a licensed podiatric surgeon in Maryland and is board-certified by The American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also affiliated with the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is on staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center and is part of the Wound Care Center in addition to being the Chief of Podiatry Service at the hospital. Dr. Harmelin is particularly interested in wound care/limb salvage and reconstructive surgery.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his family.
