Vinai Prakash, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and foot and ankle surgeon at Lake Washington Foot and Ankle Clinic. Dr. Prakash is proud to provide complete podiatric care to people of all ages living in and around Kenmore, Washington, and King County.
Dr. Prakash was born and raised in Shoreline, Washington. He began his professional pursuits at the University of Washington in Seattle, earning his undergraduate degree in biology. After graduation, Dr. Prakash enrolled at the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio.
Dr. Prakash excelled at Kent State, graduating with honors. During his time at podiatry school, Dr. Prakash also received the Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities Award and was an active member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Prakash completed residency training at St. Barnabas Hospital in The Bronx, New York. The program focused on the surgical management of lower extremity trauma, wound care, and limb-salvage procedures.
Under the mentorship of several renowned orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Prakash learned how to treat complex issues affecting the feet and ankles. Eventually, he became chief resident, overseeing 18 students.
After residency training, Dr. Prakash returned to Washington and began his career in podiatric medicine. Currently, he holds privileges at several hospitals in the Seattle metropolitan area.
When Dr. Prakash isn’t meeting with patients or developing custom care plans, he’s active in the community. Dr. Prakash provides podiatry care to low-income patients at Puget Sound Christian Clinic and serves as a clinical director with the Special Olympics.
Dr. Prakash welcomes anyone experiencing foot or ankle pain to Lake Washington Foot and Ankle Clinic.
“Just a simple toenail clip and fungus exam. But, Dr. Prakosh is a real professional whom I have been seeing for more than three years now for several ailments. He is a thorough, gentle, knowledgable physician. He’s doing a great job on me, and I value his treatments highly!”
Dr. Robertson joined the Valley Foot and Ankle Team in 2015. His background as a competitive runner and his interest in sports medicine made him a natural fit for the practice. He incorporates his own personal experience in athletics and firsthand knowledge of sports injuries into his practice:
“I had been a high school and collegiate long distance runner, with bad feet. My flat feet and painful arches earned me several trips to the podiatrist at an early age. I know what it is like to be a patient. Sadly, I also know how it feels to be treated as a set of symptoms rather than a person. That is why I strive to bring a personal, human touch to the care I provide. I treat my patients with the dignity they deserve. I believe in respecting the patient as well as their time: They will NEVER spend more time in the waiting room than with me face-to-face.” – Dr. Robertson
Dr. Robertson’s interests within podiatry include sports medicine, biomechanics, orthotics, and surgery. He is also committed to innovative treatments in the field of regenerative medicine:
“I am excited to offer treatments that stimulate the body’s own healing capabilities and help a patient avoid the need for surgery. These treatments include Radiofrequency Ablation, Radial Sound Wave Therapy and Amniotic injections” – Dr. Robertson
Most importantly, Dr. Robertson incorporates his unique personality and personal philosophy into his practice:
“I believe in being approachable, warm and easy going. I introduce myself by my first and last name, not as ‘doctor’. I smile often, show my personality and use humor whenever possible. I welcome open communication and friendly dialogue. I want your visit to be a comfortable, positive experience.” – Dr. Robertson
A California native, Dr. Robertson received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California in Los Angeles. He attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine before completing a three year surgical residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Before embarking on a career in podiatry, Dr. Robertson’s previous jobs included: shoe salesman at a running specialty store, bus-boy, semi-professional poker player, barista, retail sales, secretary and waiter. He ran cross country and track collegiately at UC Davis and was a member of the UCLA road cycling team. Ultimately, Dr. Robertson chose podiatry after meeting a local podiatrist who introduced him to sports medicine, biomechanics and orthotics.

As always, Dr. Hopkins gives my feet a through check and points out toes I should be checking for any changes - and to come in if I have any broken skin. After telling Dr. Hopkins that I use the elliptical machine at the gym, he suggested putting most of my pressure on my heels. I feel good leaving the office knowing I have learned something to help take better care of my feet. Thank you ”
