Brian Burkardt, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon with over 18 years of experience at Gentle Foot and Ankle Care in Commerce Township and South Lyon, Michigan. Dr. Burkardt is a Michigan native originally from Monroe, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science from Siena Heights University in 1999. He graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 2003 with honors. Dr. Burkardt then went on to complete an extensive three-year surgical residency at Southeast Michigan Surgical Hospital, formerly Kern Hospital. Dr. Burkardt joined Gentle Foot and Ankle Care in 2006. He is currently on staff at Huron Valley Sinai-DMC and Beaumont Royal Oak. He is board certified in both Foot Surgery and Rearfoot Reconstructive and Ankle by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. His clinical interests include bunion correction, diabetic limb salvage, wound care, trauma, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Burkardt resides in Northville, Michigan, with his wife and three children. He enjoys golf, hunting, fly fishing, and running. Dr. Milana Turner, DPM, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon who provides skilled foot and ankle care at Oakland Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Clarkston, Michigan.
Dr. Turner treats foot pain, ankle pain, and injuries both conservatively and surgically. She is an expert and extremely passionate about diabetic limb salvage and wound care. She treats both painful and cosmetic foot deformities, sports injuries, and general and diabetic foot problems using a wide range of traditional and cutting-edge techniques and protocols.
Dr. Turner advocates nonsurgical care whenever possible but is fully prepared to perform any surgical repair necessary to provide the patient with a successful result.
Dr. Turner graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, Michigan, and then earned her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine at the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois.
She went on to complete her surgical residency at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Her residency training focused on the reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery.
Alongside her podiatry practice at Oakland Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Turner currently serves on the hospital and teaching staff at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, and McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Additionally, she is on staff at Sparrow Wound and Hyperbaric Clinic in Lansing, Michigan.
Dr. Turner was born in Riga, Latvia, and grew up in Michigan. She speaks both Russian and English fluently. During her downtime, she loves to cheer on the Spartans, travel, play tennis, and spend time with her family and friends.
