He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology in 1990. The next two years he worked as a research assistant in Immunopharmacology at one of the leading Cancer Research Centers in the United States. After spending the next year working in the private sector at a pharmaceutical company, Dr. Lewis enrolled in Podiatry school in 1993.
He received his Doctrate of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1997. Dr. Lewis completed 4 years of residency training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery: two years at The Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles and two years at The Franciscan Foot and Ankle Institute in Seattle. He served the role of chief resident at both residencies.
Dr. Lewis trained with both podiatric and orthopedic surgeons during his residency. He was fortunate to be able to travel internationally to the Philippines and Mexico to perform surgical treatment of complex deformities to the citizens of these countries. He participated on the residency training committee for many years and was awarded multiple times the instructor of the year award by the residents he trained.
After residency, Drs. Mark and Petrina Lewis founded Northwest Foot and Ankle Center, PS and provided conservative and surgical treatment as members of a large Orthopedic Surgery Practice in Renton, Washington. After leaving the orthopedic practice in 2005, Dr. Lewis continues to practice in Renton focusing on conservative and surgical management of foot and ankle problems. He has a particular interest in podiatric biomechanics, orthotics, sports medicine, heel pain, and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Lewis is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Washington State Podiatric Medical Association.

“ We pride ourselves in punctuality, transparency, and innovation. Most importantly we want to provide our patients with pain relief as quick as possible. We have created a family atmosphere where all patients know what they can expect in relation to their insurance at each visit. We preauthorize all potential services and share that information with our patients in advance of those services. We have the most modern equipment and innovations to treat our patients. We have orthotic technology developed by Hewlett Packard called Fit Station. We have the ability to utilize 3D printing technology. It is revolutionizing the custom prescription orthotic space with its precision. We have dedicated orthotic labs in each of our offices in which we can perform complete gait analysis and orthotic evaluation. We are also very excited to offer Mutli-Lock-System Robotic Laser treatments (MLS) for both acute and chronic inflammatory conditions.”-Dr. Lewis
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. Petrina and I have three children: Zach, Nick, and Alexa. I am an entrepreneur at heart and I love serving as a mentor to others who are passionate in their pursuits of their personal goals. I also can be frequently found cooking meat on my Traeger Wood Pellet Smoker. I look forward to the opportunity to getting to know you and help you lead a pain free, healthy , and active life!
