Kerry Jessup, LPC, ATR-BC is a therapist with advanced training in EMDR and art therapy who has worked in the field of mental health for nearly a decade. Kerry works with ages 18+ and specializes in working with young adults in their late teens, 20s, and early 30s. She offers in-office and telehealth sessions.
Young adulthood is about discovering who you are through major decisions in your relationships, education, and career. It is a critical time when you establish lifelong habits to optimize health and identify passions that drive and define you. Kerry plays an active role in therapy and challenges clients to closely examine negative patterns in thoughts and behaviors that are holding them back. She works best with motivated clients who are ready to do the hard work in and outside of therapy sessions. Therapy will be goal-oriented to ensure you are making the improvements and changes you want to see in your life.
With lived experience as a queer therapist, Kerry enjoys working with LGBTQ+ clients, including individuals who are questioning their sexual orientation or gender assigned at birth. For those interested in trauma work, EMDR is a highly effective treatment which can be delivered in-person or virtually. No prior experience in the arts is required for art therapy. This modality allows clients to use a visual language to externalize memories and emotions that cannot adequately be described with words. Kerry also has a background as a yoga instructor and is proficient in teaching breathwork, mindfulness, and grounding techniques to manage stress and anxiety.
In her spare time Kerry enjoys yoga, thrifting, interior design and decorating, and spending time with her two cats and dozens of houseplants.
