Following residency, Dr. Kupperman completed his specialty fellowship in sports medicine under the world-renowned surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, at the Andrews Institute, where he was awarded the prestigious Herodicus Society North American Travelling Fellowship. This fellowship provided him with extensive and immersive training in operative and non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal conditions in professional and collegiate athletes.
He is currently the head team physician for Santa Ynez High School and is one of the team physicians for the Santa Barbara Foresters baseball team and UCSB. Dr. Kupperman stays active by distance running, including completing many marathons. He and his wife, Stephanie, and their young daughter, Audrey, love spending time with their extended family, enjoying the outdoors, and sampling the wonderful variety of activities and food Santa Barbara has to offer.

After completing his advanced fellowship training, Dr. Crane returned to Missouri, where he was a staff physician at Barnes Jewish Hospital and St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. From rigorous classes in critical, comparative Eastern and Western philosophy, world religions, history, and Vedic literature, TVP enhances students’ curiosity quotient, emotional intelligence, and cross-cultural sensitivity. It was at TVP where Dr. Babaria further enhanced his study and practice of yoga, its philosophy, and spiritual exercise.
After earning his medical degree from A.T. Still University, Dr. Babaria completed residency training at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH, an affiliate of Case Western Reserve University. During this training experience, he received formal training in Integrative Medicine from the University of Arizona. In residency training, he participated as a regional and national instructor for osteopathic manual medicine therapies.
Dr. Babaria then completed a North American Spine Society (NASS) accredited interventional spine and musculoskeletal sports medicine fellowship at OSSHEALTH, under the direction of world-renowned Dr. Michael Furman MD, MS, the author of Atlas of Image-Guided Spine and MSK Procedures; the preeminent atlas on image-guided interventional procedures. Jonathan H. Koenig, MD, is a Board Certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon at Los Angeles Pediatric Orthopaedics serving the Brentwood community on the Westside of Los Angeles. Though Dr. Koenig specializes in treating children and young adults, he’s happy to help any patient who still feels young at heart.
Growing up on Long Island in the suburbs of New York City, Dr. Koenig was a tri-sport athlete who went on to play varsity lacrosse at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He graduated from Yale with a degree in the history of science and medicine. He then returned to New York City to earn his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
Dr. Koenig completed a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan's Upper East Side — home of America’s first official sports medicine department. His training included rotations at world-leading institutions like Boston Children’s Hospital, R Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Leaving New York City for sunny Southern California, Dr. Koenig finished a one-year fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis surgery at the world-renowned Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego. He’s honored to bring his wealth of knowledge and extensive experience to the Westside of Los Angeles, where he resides with his wife, Dani - a native Angeleno. They enjoy spending time with their young daughter - Harlow, newborn son - Hudson, as well as their furst born - Woody, a golden retriever.
As a former athlete and orthopaedic patient himself, Dr. Koenig has a personal understanding of all aspects of the care he provides. Dr. Joseph Carreau is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement surgery, athletic injuries, and stem cell therapy. Dr. Carreau has extensive training in adult and pediatric trauma.
Dr. Carreau joined CNOS in 2016 after completing his fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the University of Iowa. He is originally from Colorado where he attended Colorado State University for his undergraduate education. Thereafter, he pursued medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and in 2009 traveled to San Diego to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego. There he received extensive training in adult and pediatric trauma and joint replacement surgery. He developed a special interest in advanced arthroscopy and the treatment of athletic injuries, and thus chose to pursue fellowship training in Sports Medicine through the University of Iowa.
At the University of Iowa, Dr. Carreau was trained by national leaders in the practice of advanced arthroscopic techniques, cartilage transplantation, shoulder instability, patellofemoral problems, ligamentous injury of the knee, and shoulder replacement surgery. He also received extensive training in the treatment of all athletes at the University of Iowa and was assistant team physician to the Hawkeye Football Team during their historic 2015 season.
He currently serves as Orthopaedic team physician to the Wayne State Wildcats and assists with multiple local high schools. Dr. Carreau has published papers on various orthopaedic topics and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
