Shortly after graduating, Dr. Ostrom began his medical studies at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) system. In addition, Dr. Ostrom pursued cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in West Carson, California, and at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society.
Today, Dr. Ostrom is a practicing electrophysiologist, specializing in catheter and device-based therapies in the treatment of complex arrhythmias, syncope, sudden cardiac death, and heart failure.
His research interests include the ablation of complex arrhythmias and device-based treatments for sudden cardiac death and congestive heart failure. Dr. Ostrom has authored or co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed cardiology and electrophysiology journals.
In addition to his work at COR Healthcare Medical Associates, Dr. Ostrom is on staff at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center and Torrance Memorial Medical Center.
Away from work, Dr. Ostrom loves spending time outdoors with his wife and children.
Michael Healy, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in interventional and structural cardiology. His areas of expertise include state-of-the-art, minimally-invasive procedures for the treatment of coronary and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Healy earned his medical degree with honors from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed internal medicine residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Dr. Healy then completed interventional cardiology fellowship at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, followed by advanced training in structural heart, peripheral vascular, and complex coronary interventions. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, vascular interpretation, and cardiac CT.
Prior to being recruited to COR Healthcare, Dr. Healy worked as an interventional cardiologist at Scripps Clinic where he was part of the teaching faculty of the fellowship training program. Dr. Healy prides himself on providing evidence-based, cutting-edge care to his patients and has been a co-investigator in several clinical trials for novel interventional device technologies.
Dr. Healy enjoys getting to know his patients and focuses on all aspects of their lives in order to personalize their treatment plans. During visits, he prioritizes educating patients with the goal of empowering them to make the best decisions regarding their unique heart condition, while also coaching them back to maximal health.
During his free time, Dr. Healy enjoys spending quality time with his family and traveling abroad. He is also an avid long-distance runner.
Salman Azam, MD, is a board-certified internist and cardiologist at COR Healthcare Medical Associates in Los Angeles. He currently sees patients at the Torrance and Redondo Beach, California, offices, where he specializes in structural heart disease and interventional cardiology diagnosis and treatment for patients of all ages.
Dr. Azam earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. After earning his medical degree, he moved to Colorado to complete an advanced interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver, and the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
To ensure he stays up-to-date with the latest advances in treatments, Dr. Azam is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology. For the convenience of his patients, Dr. Azam speaks Hindi and English.
When not treating patients at COR Healthcare Medical Associates, Dr. Azam enjoys spending time with his wife and young children, playing sports, and going to the beach.
