Doctor Ji listened to my concerns, eased my anxiety, provided helpful feedback, and is an awesome doctor. I highly recommend him. My concern with this practice is the turn around period for service. I waited in a line out the doShow moreor for 10 minutes just to check into my appointment. There were 2 people working the line. There was at least 10 people in line waiting to check in. Then I had to wait another 25 minutes past my appointment time to actually get into a room. When I call on the phone it takes 20 minutes for the phone to be answered and then another 5 minutes to go through the automated responses. By the time I reach a person, I could be dead. More employees are needed to provide support to these hard working doctors.
The onsite visit went very smoothly. I appreciate the design of the waiting room with the chairs physically reversed to prevent strangers sitting nearby. The staff upon entry was welcoming and gracious. Very efficient and kindShow more. The doctor was quick to arrive and looked over the computer screen and my info. Then, most importantly, looked up and talked to be directly in the eye, without staring at the computer screen again. Unfortunately, the only failure, was the communication between the doctor and his assistant. As I have switched insurances and home delivery prescription service, I requested the doctor write scripts (if that is what the IngenioRX needed), for ALL of my prescriptions. Unfortunately, only three were done. It was not made clear to me that he couldn't approve the other two.
Sang Yong Ji, MD, is a board-certified adult cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at COR Healthcare in Torrance, California. His board certification also includes internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography.
Dr. Ji was born in South Korea and moved to Paraguay during his junior high school year. He earned his medical degree from Asunción National University, Paraguay. He then moved to New York City to complete internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine before completing a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated as the Best Resident of the year and with Program director's award & Chief of Division award from internal medicine residency program and cardiology fellowship program respectively. He also served as chief fellow at both Montefiore cardiology fellowship program and Johns Hopkins University cardiac electrophysiology fellowship program. He provides state of the art care including complex ablations for different arrhythmias and implantation of cardiac electronic devices. He shares his expertise by authoring numerous publications in highly respected scientific and medical journals. He continues to stay active as current Principal Investigator in several clinical research projects at Torrance Memorial Medical Center as well.
Dr. Ji is fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean. When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Ji enjoys spending time with his wife, who is an internal medicine physician and their four children.

Excellent experience. Everyone was prompt with their duties and Dr. Ji went through the review of my heart condition quickly. He even said my heart was beautiful (must have been to his ears).
I developed congestive heart failure very rapidly after suffering from a light case of some virus. Dr. Ji recognized the symptoms and moved very rapidly to start treating the issue. He arranged quickly for a surgical procedure to implant a pacemaker, followed a week later by a procedure to wire the pacemaker into my heart. In a matter of hours after the second surgery I was performing at a physical level equal to where I was prior to being infected by the virus, and as well as I was during my previous physical exam about 6 months earlier when I was physically good.
DR. Ji ALWAYS GIVES A THOROUGH EXPLANATION OF HIS TREATMENTS. I TRUST DR. JI WITH MY CARDIO NEEDS.
