Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she gained valuable experience working as a registered nurse in dermatology, where she developed a solid foundation in medical skin care. After earning her MSN, she chose to continue working in dermatology as a nurse practitioner, building on the experience and passion developed during her years as a registered nurse in the specialty.

Dr. Brazen is a native Floridian from Clearwater, FL. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Florida State University before moving back home to complete his Master's degree in Medical Sciences at the University of South Florida. Dr. Brazen went on to complete medical school at Nova Southeastern University, and subsequently stayed in Southeast Florida to complete his three-year Dermatology Residency at Broward Health Medical Center.
There he received extensive training in general and complex medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, Mohs micrographic surgery, injectable fillers, lasers, and Botox. During his residency, Dr. Brazen was elected to serve as Academic chief resident, an honor awarded to the top residents in their class. During his residency, Dr. Brazen published papers in many academic journals and was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Florida Academy of Dermatology. Additionally, he serves as a delegate for the Florida Medical Association. Outside of the office, Dr. Brazen is an avid golfer, scuba diver, and fisherman. She completed a one-year pre-doctoral dermatology internship during medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago focused on women’s vulvar dermatological disease. Her undergraduate study was at Columbia University in the City of New York.
Dr. Shalini Batra has published several dermatological papers in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) and Journal of the American Medical Association in Dermatology (JAMA Dermatology) while also presenting at numerous influential academic conferences. In addition, she has authored a dermatology textbook chapter on keloids.
