Orland Mata obtained his Master's of Science in Nursing in Universidad el Turabo in Puerto Rico and graduated in 2016. He then moved form Puerto Rico to Florida seeking better opportunities and was able to initiate his nurse practitioner career in Sebring, FL in October of 2016 as a Nephrology Nurse Practitioner. With over 6 years of experience in internal medicine, nephrology, and primary care, Mr. Mata developed a passion for preventative care. He decided to embark on the journey of providing holistic primary care services to the community of Highlands County who has accepted him since his arrival from Puerto Rico over 6 years ago. Dr. Farago is a family medicine trained, board certified physician. His experience includes general family medicine as well as addiction and non-interventional pain medicine. He has expertise using both buprenorphine and methadone for the treatment of chronic opioid dependency. He is licensed in the both the USA as well as Canada to practice medicine. His DEA exemption allows him to prescribe Suboxone in the US for substance abuse. He is a licensed MRO for urine drug screening and is currently consulted for opioid management.

Ashley Perenich is a highly skilled Physician Assistant at the Spine Institute of Florida, where she works closely with Dr. Nicholas Perenich and the rest of the surgical team to provide exceptional care to patients. Ashley earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine and has since specialized in orthopedics and spine surgery.

As a Physician Assistant, Ashley is responsible for performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and assisting in surgical procedures. She is passionate about helping patients understand their condition and treatment options, and works closely with them to develop personalized treatment plans that meet their unique needs.

The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research (FSCDR) is a renowned organization solely focused on medical care and clinical research opportunities for those living with Sickle Cell Disease. FSCDR has locations across the State of Florida. Its Flagship is in Hollywood, Florida.

As the only organization in the United States with standalone sickle cell Centers of Excellence, The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research welcomes patients from all over the world. The team of physicians, specialists, care coordinators, case managers, and social work professionals combine to provide all-inclusive care for children and adults with sickle cell disease.
