A native of San Diego, Dr. Joyce Cheng received her bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University where she graduated magna cum laude. She subsequently stayed on at the Yale School of Medicine to earn her medical degree and master’s degree in clinical research. After completing her medical school training at Yale, Dr. Cheng went on to complete her medical internship, clinical research fellowship, and dermatology residency at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Joyce Cheng has had an impressive academic record serving as an investigator on numerous clinical and translational trials of novel therapeutics for cutaneous conditions. She has also presented at numerous national research conferences and has published research in Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, JID, JAAD, Science Translational Medicine, and Nature Medicine. Dr. Cheng also serves as a volunteer dermatology faculty at the VA hospital in San Diego treating patients with skin cancer and educating UCSD residents.

Ronald Cohen, MD, is a board-certified specialist in both Family and Sports Medicine. Dr. Cohen is in the top 1% of America’s doctors when it comes to experience and training in regenerative orthopedic treatments – nonsurgical solutions to improve function and reduce pain. For the first 11 years of his medical career, Dr. Cohen was contracted by the Department of Defense to manage and direct the Sports Medicine & Reconditioning program for all of the Marine Corps recruits in the western United States as well as to serve as a special consultant for the Navy SEALs.
He has had extensive experience and training in managing difficult injuries and chronic conditions and has been a licensed Regenexx® affiliate since undergoing advanced regenerative orthopedics training with the Regenexx founders in 2013. Dr. Rodríguez earned her medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She serves the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) as a Team USA physician and was on the medical staff at the Olympic Training Site in Chula Vista, California, as team physician for 10 years.
Dr. Rodriguez served as the Medical Director for the high-performance center for Team USA (11 sports) at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. She was part of the medical staff as Team USA physician at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. She is honored to currently serve on the USOPC Physician Advisory Board.
Dr. Rodriguez is also a team physician for USA Women's Waterpolo and USA Rugby. She is the head team physician for the major league rugby team, the San Diego Legion.
