Dr. Michael A. Ahearn is a committed physician specializing in general medicine and the founder of Ahearn & Associates Medical Center, which has served the Kewanee community for over 38 years. He holds Board Certifications in both Family Practice and Emergency Medicine.
Born and raised in Mexico, Dr. Ahearn earned his Physician-Surgeon degree with highest honors from the University of La Salle, Mexico City, in 1982. He completed his family practice residency at St. Luke's and Mercy Hospitals in Davenport, Iowa, in 1987 and furthered his education with a certification in acupuncture from Harvard Medical School in 2010.
Since opening Ahearn & Associates in 2003, Dr. Ahearn has built a trusted practice while also serving as Medical Director for numerous nursing homes across Illinois. In addition, he continues to work as an emergency room physician at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center. His passion for medicine extends beyond borders, having volunteered his expertise in Guatemala, Kenya, and South Africa, bringing care to underserved communities.

He also served as a principal investigator on numerous medical protocols. In 2013, he led the First Community Walk to Stop Diabetes in the Kewanee area, which became a top fundraiser nationwide.
When he's not at the clinic or on a medical mission, Dr. Ahearn cherishes moments with his wife Rebecca, stepson Austin, Bella, and family, as well as indulging in his love for reading, music, and movies.
