He has previous clinical experience working as a patient care technician in the neurology unit at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Family physician Nicholas Tavani, MD, PhD, leads the team at Battlefield Family Medicine & Weight Management. Having served the local residents of Manassas, Virginia, for over two decades, Dr. Tavani and the team take a compassionate approach to care and promote healthy lifestyles to patients and their families.
Dr. Tavani earned his Bachelor of Science at the Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 1974. Dr. Tavani recieved his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He then completed his internship in family medicine at Providence Hospital through Georgetown University, followed by his residency in family medicine at the University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly. Dr. Tavani later obtained his PhD in Biophysics and Physiology at Georgetown University in 1984.

Growing up as a high school science teacher’s daughter, Elizabeth always gravitated toward studying medicine. She received her bachelor’s in science from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts, before beginning her career managing clinical research trials.
After spending several years in the research sector, Elizabeth realized she wanted to work directly with patients. She earned her physician assistant degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Elizabeth’s interest in colorectal surgery grew during her general surgery training, and she ultimately completed formal training.

Dr. Dan Bishwakarma is a board-certified family physician at Prime Medical Care, LLC, serving residents living in the Alexandria, Virginia area. He earned his M. B., B. S. (Bachelor in Medicine and Bachelor in Surgery) degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, New York, affiliated with Cornell University, in June 2008.
