Growing up as a high school science teacher’s daughter, Elizabeth always gravitated toward studying medicine. She received her bachelor’s in science from Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts, before beginning her career managing clinical research trials.

After spending several years in the research sector, Elizabeth realized she wanted to work directly with patients. She earned her physician assistant degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Elizabeth’s interest in colorectal surgery grew during her general surgery training, and she ultimately completed formal training.

Catherine Holder, PA-C, is a physician assistant with more than 10 years of experience. At Fairfax Colon & Rectal Surgery, PC. Catherine specializes in diagnosing and treating anal pain, hemorrhoids, abscesses, and other colorectal conditions.

Catherine completed her undergraduate and physician assistant training at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before returning to her home state of Alaska to specialize in colon and rectal surgery. During the early years of her career, Catherine met her husband, an Air Force pilot, and relocated to Washington state, where she continued to specialize in surgery.

After welcoming their third child, Catherine and her husband were stationed in Illinois. Catherine transitioned into being a stay-at-home parent during this time before having her third child and moving to Northern Virginia. Angie Tucker Anderson, MSN, MHA, FNP-BC has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare as a registered nurse, healthcare administrator and nurse practitioner. Ms. Anderson received her Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in 1997. She is also a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA, receiving a Master of Healthcare Administration in 2006. She also received a Master of Science in Nursing from James Madison University in 2012. She is an ANCC Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She holds an Advanced Certification in Obesity Medicine from the Obesity Medicine Association. Ms. Anderson has specialty expertise in both Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine.
