Dr. Dorio graduated with his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1969. He then earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine in 1974, and went on to complete his post-graduate training in the department of pathology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Afterward, he stayed at the University of Pennsylvania as an assistant professor of pathology, researching cell adhesion molecules. Dr. Dorio then researched the biochemistry of alcohol as an assistant professor of pathology at Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly Hahnemann University) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and as an assistant professor of research pathology at the University of Southern California, affiliated with Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

For elderly patients who cannot easily leave their homes, many who are over 80 years old with chronic conditions, he offers home visits, treating those with conditions from Alzheimer’s and dementia to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and falls. His three children often go with him on these visits, where they sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to the patients, who are very appreciative.
Dr. Dorio also has a hospice practice in partnership with several hospice companies in California, including Hospice Care of the Valley in Simi Valley, and Golden Oaks Hospice, LA Hospice, and Green Horizon Hospice in Los Angeles.
Dr. Dorio is married to his wife, Ethel, and they have three children, Gwendelyn, Allison, and Charlotte. He is currently accepting new patients and warmly welcomes them to IMAC Medical Group.
