Anne-Sophie Kim, MD, is a dedicated primary care physician at Michigan Avenue Primary Care located in The Loop of downtown Chicago, Illinois. She is committed to patient-centered medicine and provides comprehensive and preventative primary care.
Skilled in managing both acute and chronic conditions, Dr. Kim aims to improve the overall health of her patients. Her particular areas of interest include managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and thyroid diseases.
Dr. Kim completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago – NorthShore in Evanston, IL. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis, TN. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Chemistry, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.
Fluent in English and French, and proficient in Spanish, Dr. Kim effectively communicates with a diverse patient population. Her multilingual skills enhance her ability to provide exceptional care to patients from various backgrounds.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Kim has teaching and leadership experience. She served as a Teaching Scholar at the University of Tennessee COM in Memphis and as a Clinic Leader at Clinica Esperanza, a free primary care clinic for the uninsured and underserved Spanish-speaking adult population in Memphis. She also spent time as a College Biology and Pre-Med Mentor for the STEMPREP program at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.

Earning her medical degree from the University of Munich, Dr. Lengyel pursued further training in obstetrics and gynecology while in Germany before moving to the United States to work as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California San Francisco. After publishing multiple articles and book chapters, Dr. Lengyel returned to clinical medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency at West Suburban Medical Center.
Her treatment philosophy is to appreciate that every patient is different and in turn, to provide them with the deserved individual attention and treatment. She believes in listening to patients, educating them about their diagnosis and treatment options, and caring about their wellbeing. Dr. Lengyel values the inherent variety of Michigan Avenue Immediate Care’s patients who continually keep her “thinking, rethinking and learning”.
What Dr. Lengyel loves about being a physician:“I greatly enjoy meeting new people every day, listening to their stories, educating them, and helping them feel better. Brett is an integrative nurse practitioner who is board certified in both internal medicine and sexual/reproductive medicine. Prior to joining Whole Health Chicago, Brett worked in OBGYN clinics where she was able to treat a variety of conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, PMS, PMDD, depression, anxiety, and perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms. She is trained in contraceptive management, including IUD/Nexplanon insertions and removals.
Brett received her MSN from Vanderbilt University, where she gained a plethora of experience working not only in general primary care and OBGYN clinics but also in specialty clinics such as memory care, sleep medicine, Vanderbilt’s PCOS Clinic, and Vanderbilt’s Clinic for Transgender Health.
Alvina Shaikh, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant at NewMed Immediate Care, which has locations in Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, and Mount Prospect, Illinois. She provides compassionate, efficient, and high-quality care to adult and pediatric patients.
Alvina graduated from Midwestern University. Her area of expertise includes women's health and management of chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and hypertension. She has also done extensive research in gynecologic malignancies, such as breast and ovarian cancers.
In her free time outside of NewMed Immediate Care, Alvina enjoys cooking and spending time with friends and family.
