Dr. Khalsa obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California College of Medicine in Los Angeles, California. The school awarded her a dean’s scholarship and a Howard Hughes grant for her hard work. After her undergraduate work, Dr. Khalsa was a resident in family practice at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California.
After spending 10 years in Family Practice, Dr. Khalsa began working in the field of Addiction. She has cared for patients at every level of treatment, from Detox, Residential, IOP, and PHP, and in the outpatient setting.
Throughout her career, Dr. Khalsa has consistently demonstrated a commitment to staying at the forefront of addiction medicine, constantly evolving her techniques and methods to align with the latest research and scientific advancements in the field. Arash Nikamal, DO, (aka “Dr. Nik”) is a family medicine physician at CHAP Med, located in Sherman Oaks, California. He joined the practice in New York. He has years of experience in hospital medicine and urgent care medicine. Having lived in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, he prides himself in serving patients in the largest metropolitan communities in the country.
Earning his Bachelor of Science in biology from Loyola University Chicago, he then went on to medical school at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, New York. Dr. Nik moved on to an internship and residency at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, where he met Dr. Soufer. Dr. Nik joined Dr. Soufer as Chief Resident during their training together.
After residency, Dr. Nik spent two years working at Long Beach Memorial Hospital as a hospitalist. Serving the surrounding community allowed him to hone his skills in treating highly acute patients in a level 2 trauma hospital. Dr. Nik now joins Dr. Soufer in their practice in Sherman Oaks.
Dr. Nik prides himself on being thorough yet focused in his medical care. He focuses on heart health, cholesterol management, diet and exercise planning, and diabetes management. Dr. Nik embraces new trends in medicine, such as the implementation of the Mediterranean and ketogenic diets, to patients. Behzad Souferzade, DO, (aka Dr. Soufer) is a leading family medicine doctor at CHAP Med in Sherman Oaks, California. He brings a unique, holistic individualized, patient-partner approach to care.
Praised for his expert skill and compassionate bedside manner, Dr. Soufer offers comprehensive treatment, management, and preventative care for a wide variety of conditions and diseases, including depression, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, urgent care needs, asthma, and diabetes. Dr. Levin earned his B.S. in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the prestigious McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He then trained for his medical degree at the leading medical school in Israel, The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology Medical Program, world renowned for their world-leading cutting-edge medical research led by Nobel prize winners. For his Internal Medicine residency, Dr. Levin trained at the Jewish Hospital, Mercy Health in Cincinnati, Ohio, where there was great emphasis placed on excellent bedside manner and medical knowledge, before moving to Los Angeles to be close to family and beautiful sunshine! In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children outdoors in nature, throwing a barbeque or relaxing together at home. Born in Montreal, Canada, Dr. Levin is also an avid hockey fan who loves to snowboard and play ice hockey!
