Thomas Rambacher, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA, is a double board-certified surgeon and wound doctor at Foot Ankle Leg Wound Care Orange County in Mission Viejo, California. He is one of the few wound care specialists and podiatrists in the region who specializes in orthoplastics (flap reconstruction), limb salvage, and highly specialized wound care.
Dr. Rambacher received his degree in podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, now called the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM).
His primary podiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation involved many subspecialty rotations like orthopedics, endocrinology, rheumatology, emergency medicine, and podo-pediatrics.
Dr. Rambacher has performed numerous surgical rotations in Ohio at Cleveland Veteran Administration Hospital, The Podiatry Institute, Ohio State University (OSU), Kaiser Permanente, and the Jewish Hospital Ohio.
He also had high-volume surgical training in the Saddleback Valley Residency Training Program at Los Angeles and Orange County hospitals.
Incorporating extensive training from the East and West coasts, Dr. Rambacher works closely with patients to limit downtime so they can quickly return to hobbies and work. He provides the most advanced treatments and integrates them into his patients’ lifestyles.
Dr. Rambacher offers nonsurgical and surgical treatments for leg and foot conditions, including reconstruction with external fixation for extreme abnormalities, wound care, diabetic amputation prevention, advanced graft wounds, and skin grafting (skin substitutes).
He is certified by The American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Professional Wound Care Association®.
Dr. Rambacher enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing outdoor adventures like hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and surfing. He is very active in the local community with hospital outreach programs and event promotion outdoor activities.
