About Dr. Clair

Darren FX Clair, MD, has been practicing medicine in the Los Angeles area for over 30 years and has helped thousands of patients improve and maintain their overall health and vitality. Dr. Clair is a functional medicine physician treating patients at Vibrance Health, which is located in Westlake Village, California. 

He believes that the first step to assisting his patients to obtain optimal health is to spend an adequate amount of time with each patient and obtain a comprehensive review of their medical history in order to assess their current level of health, lifestyle, and to learn of any symptoms they may be experiencing. Although there are certainly instances where prescription medication is necessary, Dr. Clair’s primary objective is to look for ways to work with a natural healing ability of a patient's body to develop and maintain ultimate good health.

Dr. Clair believes that it is not enough to rely strictly on lab test results as a way to diagnose a patient’s health issues. Lab tests frequently do not accurately reflect how you, as a patient are feeling or functioning. Most lab tests are a comparison to others and do not take into account the fact that each patient is unique. Dr. Clair actively listens to his patients about how they are feeling and, if required, uses state-of-the-art non-invasive testing to determine the best course of action for the patient.

Dr. Clair is a graduate of Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his postgraduate work at UCLA Hospital. He is a Board Certified anesthesiologist, and in 2003, he opened Vibrance Medical Group, Inc. in order to help people to use their body’s natural curative powers to heal their ailments and stay healthy. In 2017, Dr. Clair became one of only 300 doctors to have earned the title of Certified Lifestyle Physician with the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

Dr. Clair was a co-investigator on an FDA-approved investigation of human growth hormone as an anti-aging agent and has published an article on growth hormone replacement in the prestigious Journal of Medicine. He has frequently appeared on TV news segments and The Doctors Show, discussing a wide range of various health-related subjects.

In 2018, Vibrance opened a meditation and yoga studio to complement our lifestyle medicine practices and programs in the Westlake Village community. Dr. Clair believes that yoga and meditation can be of great benefit to you on your journey to optimal health and wellness.

Valarie has been working as an aesthetic nurse with Westlake Laser since 2000.  She is highly proficient with injectable fillers and neurotoxins as well as aesthetic lasers and other modalities.  She will help you look your best, while still appearing natural and will use the numerous resources available at our office to create a customized plan to achieve that goal.

Valarie graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS degree and began her career in the computer business.  After the birth of her children she returned to school to become a registered nurse. She spent 10 years working as a labor and delivery nurse before she moved to aesthetics and began the journey with Westlake Laser.  She feels fortunate to have the resources and support of our medical director, Dr. A. David Rahimi, MD, and that we are able to offer a full spectrum of treatments to our patients who desire to look their very best.

Dr. Margaret Shannon M.D.

Dr. Shannon, originally from Massachusetts, resides in Newport Beach, California. She graduated from Georgetown University, Washington DC with a B.S.N. and continued her education at Georgetown Medical School, Washington, DC where she obtained her medical degree. After serving eight years in the Navy in San Diego, California, Dr. Shannon decided to go into private practice. She is the founder of Coastline Dermatology Laser and Medical Center in Newport Beach, CA. Her sincere pride, passion and desire to be one of the best dermatologists possible resulted in the success of a 25+ year practice.

Dr. Shannon is an exceptionally gifted surgeon specializing in Mohs’ Surgery. She also loves the cosmetic side of dermatology and remains educated, trained and certified in all state of the art laser and cosmetic procedures available.
Dr. Shannon spends most of her free time with her son and daughter, the loves of her life. She enjoys watching her daughter’s volleyball and basketball games and encouraging them to make education their priority!

Karen Taylor, MD, FACOG, is a skilled and compassionate gynecologist located in Newport Beach, CA who is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, patient-centered gynecological care for women of all ages. At her practice next to Fashion Island, Dr. Taylor provides patients with an array of treatment options and medical services including well woman exams, birth control counseling, and treatment options including IUD placement, STD testing, hormone replacement therapy, treatment for menopause issues, diagnosis and management of pelvic pain, depression treatment, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) therapy, and in-office evaluations and procedures including colposcopy and hysteroscopy. With over 30 years of experience, Jing F. Li, MD. OMD, LAc,  provides holistic, comprehensive, compassionate care to patients in Irvine, California. As the founder and director of Integrative Medical Center, she combines traditional Family Medicine and alternative approaches to offer a wide range of treatment options for specific conditions.

Dr. Li’s passion is promoting health awareness. She strives to provide the least invasive, yet most effective approaches for each patient while educating and empowering individuals to take control of their health.

Thomas Rambacher, DPM, FACFAS, FAPWCA, is a double board-certified surgeon and wound doctor at Foot Ankle Leg Wound Care Orange County in Mission Viejo, California. He is one of the few wound care specialists and podiatrists in the region who specializes in orthoplastics (flap reconstruction), limb salvage, and highly specialized wound care.

Dr. Rambacher received his degree in podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, now called the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM).

His primary podiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation involved many subspecialty rotations like orthopedics, endocrinology, rheumatology, emergency medicine, and podo-pediatrics.

Dr. Rambacher has performed numerous surgical rotations in Ohio at Cleveland Veteran Administration Hospital, The Podiatry Institute, Ohio State University (OSU), Kaiser Permanente, and the Jewish Hospital Ohio.

He also had high-volume surgical training in the Saddleback Valley Residency Training Program at Los Angeles and Orange County hospitals.

Lauren Kent Davis, DO, is a board-certified family practice physician at South Coast Family Medical Center Inc. Dr. Kent Davis is passionate about providing accessible primary care to the community. She grew up in Laguna Niguel, California, where her father, Michael Kent, MD, founded South Coast Family Medical Center in 1990.

Dr. Kent Davis grew up playing soccer for the SC Blues Soccer Club and attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Dr. Kent Davis followed in her father’s footsteps, choosing medicine as her profession. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and pre-med from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. While studying at Notre Dame, Dr. Kent Davis continued playing soccer and was on the university’s varsity team.

Dr. Kent Davis went to medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. While in medical school, she met her husband, Chris Davis, DO. After graduation, she completed a three-year residency in family medicine at St. Anthony North Family Medicine Residency in Denver, part of Centura Health®.
