Ashley Perenich is a highly skilled Physician Assistant at the Spine Institute of Florida, where she works closely with Dr. Nicholas Perenich and the rest of the surgical team to provide exceptional care to patients. I graduated from UAB Family Residency program in 2006. I have been practicing in Florida for 13 years as an emergency room physician. I am board certified in family medicine with multiple accreditation's such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, NALS, and ATLS. I believe continuing medical education should be done constantly to stay up to date with all new research.

Gershwin Blyden, MD, PhD, FCP, FACP, is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist and medical director of The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research, with locations in Homestead, Orlando, Lakeland, Jacksonville, Belle Glade, Tallahassee, and Hollywood, Florida. With more than 40 years of diverse experience, Dr. Blyden is an esteemed physician in his field.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in plant science from the Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University) in Tuskegee, Alabama, in 1967, Dr. Blyden earned a PhD in pharmacology from prestigious Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1976. Just three years later, he also earned his medical doctorate cum laude from Yale University.

In 1985, Dr. Blyden completed an internal medicine internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. That same year, he also finished his hematology/oncology and clinical pharmacology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. 

After graduating and completing his training, Dr. Blyden worked as an adjunct professor for the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami Shores, Florida, an associate clinical professor of hematology and oncology at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, and as an associate professor of clinical pharmacy and director of the Clinical Pharmacology Research Unit at Florida A&M University’s Miami location.

Today, Dr. Blyden is a leader in the field of sickle cell treatment, case management, and research. He provides comprehensive care for chronic diseases, with a special emphasis on sickle cell anemia.

Dr. Nelson is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) by the the American Osteopathic Association upon the recommendation of the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He completed his medical degree at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN. After medical school, Dr. Nelson completed his residency training in Family Medicine at Largo Medical Center, Largo, FL. Before joining APC Health, Dr. Nelson served in the United States Air Force as Staff Family Physician and is now a proud Veteran of the United States Armed Forces in good standing. Nurse practitioner Jeanie Menendez embarked her healthcare journey in the fast-paced work of Emergency Medicine and trauma in South Florida which cultivated resilience and expertise laying the foundation for commitment to patient care. Harnessing the intensity of those early experiences, she pursued academic excellence at The University of Tampa earning a Masters of Science in Nursing and becoming an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner. Transitioning to the role of Nurse Practitioner, an early calling was found in community health in Tampa. Here, passion for making a difference intersected with the pressing needs of the underserved. Jessica Rosado, APRN, FNP-C. Experienced RN II and FNP with 23 years in the health care system. Jessica graduated from RN at Antillean University in PR and completed her Master's Degree in APRN, FNP-C from AGM University in Florida. Mrs. Jessica also has Gerontology Nursing Gero-BC and FMCSA (DOT) certifications. Jessica is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Janelle Bauer, APRN, is a family nurse practitioner at The Wellness Clinic at New Tampa Interventional Pain & Sports Medicine in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

After graduating high school, she started her health care journey as a nursing assistant. Janelle pursued her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of South Florida in Hillsborough County, Florida. She holds certification through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
