Dr. Ashraf Salem (Ash) is the Founder, President and Chief Medical Officer of BKUC. Dr. Salem graduated, Summa Cum Laude, from Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at CCNY and attended medical school at Mount Sinai. Priscilla Borkor, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than a decade of experience in psychotherapy, psychiatric social work, wellness advisory, and clinical supervision. Her work spans hospital, emergency department, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient care, care management, and community mental health settings, where she has provided trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care to individuals with complex mental health, medical, and psychosocial needs.

She has experiencing working with individuals receiving addiction and mental health treatment, as well as with cancer patients, bringing a diverse clinical perspective to her work. Miriam also holds a Child Welfare Certification, further strengthening her commitment to serving vulnerable populations.

Before transitioning her primary focus to clinical operations and program development, Miriam maintained an active clinical caseload, providing direct therapeutic services to individuals with a wide range of behavioral health needs. She currently serves as the Clinical Program Development Specialist at LaSante Health Center, where she is dedicated to advancing high-quality behavioral healthcare through excellence in clinical documentation, regulatory compliance, and efficient clinical operations. Sherifa Julien-Johnson, PA, is a highly experienced, board-certified Physician Assistant at University Reproductive Associates, which has locations in Hasbrouck Heights, Hoboken, Wayne, Millburn, and Denville, New Jersey, and Goshen, New York. 

Sherifa specializes in reproductive endocrinology and is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Seton Hall University, School of Health and Medical Sciences.

With 15 years of dedicated experience in women’s health, Sherifa has found her passion in guiding patients through the complex journey of fertility care and has been practicing in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility since 2011. Anthony Freire, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC founded The Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling alongside Kelley Hershman, LMHC and Alexander Badillo, JD, LMHC  to better serve their clientele using a team approach. Betrice Thompson is a highly experienced LCSW with over 30 years of dedicated service in the field of social work, specializing in geriatric issues, such as adjustment disorder, grief and loss, hospice, depression, anxiety, and caregiver support. She has assisted families and individuals through the difficult process of selecting alternative placement and services.

Betrice passion extends to working with the faith community, particularly clergy (pastors and their families) addressing issues related to mental health challenges often not discussed in the faith community.

Betrice holds several advanced degrees including a master’s in social work from the University of Oklahoma-Norman, a master’s in education with a specialty in gerontology from the University of Central Oklahoma-Edmond. She recently obtained a double master’s in Divinity and Pastoral Care and Counseling from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, New Brunswick. She holds certificates from the National Association of Social Workers where she has been a member for several years in Clinical Social Worker Supervision and as a Certified Advanced Social Work Case Manager (C-ASWM).
