She received her associate degree in nursing from Antelope Valley College and both her bachelor’s and master’s degree from California State University, Bakersfield.
Julia’s scope of practice is focused on Family Practice, Acute and Chronic Care and her medical background includes over 20 years of experience in various fields of nursing including acute care facilities, assisting in cardiology, the emergency department, respiratory care, senior care facilities, medical surgical, stroke and telemetry units.
Julia’s life-long passion and desire has been to help in the community, providing compassionate care to patients while simultaneously educating her patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Darren FX Clair, MD, has been practicing medicine in the Los Angeles area for over 30 years and has helped thousands of patients improve and maintain their overall health and vitality. Dr. Clair is a functional medicine physician treating patients at Vibrance Health, which is located in Westlake Village, California.
He believes that the first step to assisting his patients to obtain optimal health is to spend an adequate amount of time with each patient and obtain a comprehensive review of their medical history in order to assess their current level of health, lifestyle, and to learn of any symptoms they may be experiencing. Although there are certainly instances where prescription medication is necessary, Dr. Clair’s primary objective is to look for ways to work with a natural healing ability of a patient's body to develop and maintain ultimate good health.
Dr. Clair believes that it is not enough to rely strictly on lab test results as a way to diagnose a patient’s health issues. Lab tests frequently do not accurately reflect how you, as a patient are feeling or functioning. Most lab tests are a comparison to others and do not take into account the fact that each patient is unique. Dr. Clair actively listens to his patients about how they are feeling and, if required, uses state-of-the-art non-invasive testing to determine the best course of action for the patient.
Dr. Clair is a graduate of Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his postgraduate work at UCLA Hospital. He is a Board Certified anesthesiologist, and in 2003, he opened Vibrance Medical Group, Inc. in order to help people to use their body’s natural curative powers to heal their ailments and stay healthy. In 2017, Dr. Clair became one of only 300 doctors to have earned the title of Certified Lifestyle Physician with the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Clair was a co-investigator on an FDA-approved investigation of human growth hormone as an anti-aging agent and has published an article on growth hormone replacement in the prestigious Journal of Medicine. He has frequently appeared on TV news segments and The Doctors Show, discussing a wide range of various health-related subjects.

Valarie graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS degree and began her career in the computer business. After the birth of her children she returned to school to become a registered nurse. She spent 10 years working as a labor and delivery nurse before she moved to aesthetics and began the journey with Westlake Laser. She feels fortunate to have the resources and support of our medical director, Dr. A. David Rahimi, MD, and that we are able to offer a full spectrum of treatments to our patients who desire to look their very best.
