Zach began his academic journey at Greensboro College, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences in 2022 while balancing the demands of being a full-time student-athlete on the basketball team. He later completed a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration at Florida International University in 2024.

He brings valuable hands-on experience in streamlining operational workflows, managing complex projects, and strengthening organizational systems. With a strong foundation in healthcare administration and regulatory compliance, Zach is highly skilled in scheduling coordination, records management, and implementing efficient administrative processes.

Brandon, a born and raised Wilmingtonian, is dedicated to improving the health and well being of his hometown. His career advancement in the medical field began in 2013 when he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with his Bachelor of Science in Biology. During this time he gained 4 years of hands-on experience at a level II trauma center hospital, two years of which he worked in Cardiovascular ICU. With the support of his family and dedication to medicine, he went on to pursue the Physician Assistant Studies Program where he graduated in 2016 from Wingate University. He began his career in the cardiothoracic surgical step-down unit at Duke University Hospital and has since relocated back to Wilmington – the place he calls home. Brandon loves fly fishing, boating, and spending time with his wife and their 12 year old daughter.

Emily Crosson, PA-C, is an experienced Physician Assistant at Dawson Med with more than 15 years of clinical practice. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Mary's College of Maryland and completed her Physician Assistant training at East Carolina University.

Throughout her career, Emily has developed a thoughtful, patient-centered approach that blends evidence-based medicine with the importance of lifestyle and preventive care. Jiyun Chang, MD, MBA

Dr. Jiyun Chang is a primary care physician at Dawson Med, seeing patients primarily at the practice's Boiling Spring Lakes location, with additional time in Leland. She is committed to community-centered care, grounded in the belief that the better you know a place and its people, the better care you can provide for it.

Dr. Chang graduated from Harvard College in 2016. She earned her medical degree from the UNC School of Medicine, where she was selected as a Kenan Rural Primary Care Medical Scholar and a Pisacano Scholar. During medical school, she worked with Dr. Sanjay Batish of Batish Family Medicine in Leland (now Dawson Med Leland), an experience that showed her the value of independent primary care, where physicians can preserve a personalized approach to medicine. She also completed her dual degree in Master of Business Administration at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School during her medical school training. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at MAHEC in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Dr. Chang also serves on the Board of MedServe, a North Carolina nonprofit that places recent college graduates in two-year fellowships at primary care clinics in underserved communities across the state, building the next generation of primary care physicians.

Dr. Chang grew up in Christiansburg, Virginia, and has called North Carolina home since 2016. She and her husband, Dr. Andrew Marburg, are excited to return to the area. Outside of the practice, she enjoys volleyball, reading, crocheting, and walking on the beach.

Andrew Marburg, MD

Dr. Andrew Marburg is a primary care physician at Dawson Med, seeing patients at the practice's Boiling Spring Lakes and Leland locations. He is passionate about improving access to primary care for all and values the continuity of care that comes from building lasting relationships with patients.

Dr. Marburg discovered his love for primary care as a MedServe Fellow in Benson, North Carolina. There he worked as a medical assistant and Spanish interpreter at a family medicine clinic and helped coordinate night clinics for seasonal farmworkers. He earned his medical degree from the UNC School of Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at MAHEC in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He is one of three physicians selected for the UNC Rural Primary Care Fellowship. Dr. Marburg is fluent in Spanish and can communicate with Spanish-speaking patients about their health and medical needs.

Born and raised in Wilmington, Dr. Marburg is the son of an emergency physician. Learning about health care delivery from his father at an early age gave him a sense of where care in the area could be improved. He is honored to return home and help sustain local, independent primary care in the area. He and his wife, Dr. Jiyun Chang, live in Leland. Outside of the practice, he enjoys surfing, swimming, pickup soccer, and playing guitar and banjo.

I am a dedicated family nurse practitioner of 7 years and have 31 years of registered nursing experience. My nurse practitioner specialty is family medicine. As a nurse practitioner, I have had experience working in retail clinics and as a primary care provider, but my goal has always been to open my own practice. I have now, finally, reached that goal. One of my main reasons for desiring to own my own practice is so that I could provide the best possible care to the patients who entrust their healthcare to me without feeling rushed to meet a certain number of visits per day. Although a medical office is also a business and finances must be considered, I do not believe that a patient's healthcare should come second to that.
