He is also a founding member of the Endoscopy Center of Long Island in Garden City, New York. He has been serving patients in the area since 1998.
Dr. Novak earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from Trinity College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and received several academic honors.

Zachary Marwil, MD, is a highly respected and sought-after gastroenterologist on Long Island. Dr. Marwil is a partner at Gastrointestinal Specialists of Long Island (GISLI) and also serves as the managing director at the Northwell Health Endoscopy Center of Long Island. He is board-certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine.
Dr. Marwil attended the University of Michigan as an undergraduate and earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine.
Dr. Marwil completed his residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center, where he also had the honor of serving as the chief resident in the department of medicine. He continued his training as a fellow and then as chief fellow in the division of gastroenterology and hepatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

I look for the latest high-tech approaches including genetic testing, neurocognitive screening, and testing with ‘liquid biopsies’ by a blood test that picks up very early cancers.

Following fellowship, Dr. Guttmann served as a staff attending at Forest Hill-Long Island Jewish Hospital as well as the Director of Endoscopy. He subsequently went on to run a busy inpatient gastroenterology service at Long Island Jewish and North Shore University Hospitals/Northwell.
Dr. Guttmann is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Hofstra University Medical School and has numerous national publications and presentations on gastrointestinal topics. Dr. Jeremy Gutwein was born in Bronx, NY, and grew up in Westchester county. He received his Bachelor of Arts from New York University, Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Psychology in 1998. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2002 and completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. He then earned a Master of Science degree in Nutrition at New York University in 2006 and went on to receive his training in Gastroenterology, which he completed in 2009, at Montefiore Medical Center. He joined Riverdale Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases immediately following his fellowship training.
Dr. Gutwein is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the New York Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
