Samer Kassar, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and the lead practitioner at Midwest Neurology Associates, P.C. in Dyer, Indiana. Born in Damascus, Syria, Dr. Kassar received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Damascus School of Medicine, graduating with honors at the top of his class. He then relocated to the US and completed his residency at Saint Louis University, School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
Following his residency, Dr. Kassar worked as an internal medicine hospitalist at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois, as well as an emergency room physician at the VA Medical Center, also in Marion. After working for a few years, Dr. Kassar decided he wanted to focus on neurology and completed his neurology residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.
Dedicated to his career, Dr. Kassar has conducted extensive research and participated in many conferences. He’s also active within his professional community, acting as an interpreter and translator for Arabic to English and vice versa in a number of international medical conferences. Dr. Kassar previously trained physicians in Syria and provided medical care in and around Damascus to the underprivileged.
When he isn’t focused on helping change his patient’s lives, Dr. Kassar enjoys playing and watching soccer and traveling around the world. Continuous learning is Dr. Kasser’s personal mission, and he’s always looking for the latest and greatest techniques from medical practitioners around the world that would benefit his patients.

Grace is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). Shaped by her past experiences, pursuing social work felt like the natural path forward. Providing children and families with compassionate, high-quality care is of utmost importance, as children enrich our lives and deserve dedicated support for their well-being and growth.
After earning her Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University in 2025, Grace obtained her LSW licensure and began working with children, adolescents, and families in a therapeutic setting. Jonathan Barbosa is a TMS therapist and the practice manager of Mindful TMS Neurocare Centers’ Crystal Lake office. Mindful TMS Neurocare Centers has offices in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, Crystal Lake, Wheaton, and Hinsdale, Illinois, where skilled providers care for people with psychiatric and neurologic needs.
Jonathan studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Counseling and Human Services. He then enrolled in the Moody Theological Seminary (also in Chicago) and obtained his Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling.
At Mindful TMS Neurocare Centers, Jonathan administers transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and other neuronavigational treatments. He takes a compassionate, patient-centered treatment approach, combining his faith in Jesus Christ with his extensive psychiatric training.
Jonathan feels incredibly blessed to be able to support adolescents, teens, and adults with their mental, behavioral, and neurological challenges. His friendly demeanor and willingness to listen ensure patients feel respected and heard.
Outside the office, Jonathan is very active in his church community. He enjoys growing his faith, sharing the gospel with others, and serving people in need.

Evelyn Orellana attended the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) as a first-generation Latina. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Studies with a Behavioral Health Concentration and a Minor in Public Health, following the Pre-Nursing track.
Outside of school and work, Evelyn dedicates her weekends to volunteering at UI Health. She has developed her interpersonal skills by being part of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) teams. As a child life volunteer in the PICU and a baby cuddler in the NICU, she communicates and interacts with patients, parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to reduce stress during the patients' stay.
