As a fellow, Dr. Goyal became proficient in minimally invasive approaches for removing complex brain tumors and developed unique skills involving minimally invasive techniques and robotic technology to treat the most complicated spinal diseases.
Dr. Goyal later joined Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, Delaware, where he dramatically grew their neurosurgery program. At Bayhealth, he helped establish a robotic spine program and build and develop the comprehensive, multidisciplinary neuro-oncology (brain tumor) program.
In his free time, Dr. Goyal enjoys traveling with his wife, three young children, and their two Labrador Huskies. He has a passion for the outdoors, particularly hiking and visiting beaches. About Dr. Oni-Orisan
Akinwunmi Oni-Orisan, MD, is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon, sub-specializing in open cerebrovascular, skull base, and endovascular neurosurgery. At Link Neuroscience Institute in Oxnard and Santa Barbara, California, Dr. Oni-Orisan provides expertise in the treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, carotid disease, acoustic neuromas, and skull base tumors. In addition to cerebrovascular disease, Dr. Oni-Orisan has extensive training in the treatment of degenerative and traumatic spine disorders, brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, Chiari malformation, carpal tunnel syndrome, pituitary adenomas, and traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Oni-Orisan was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Nigerian immigrant parents. He attended the University of Michigan, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honors in cell and molecular biology. He then went on to obtain a Doctor of Medicine degree at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. This was followed by a seven-year neurological surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After the completion of residency, Dr. Oni-Orisan concluded his training with a combined, two-year open cerebrovascular, skull base, and neuro-endovascular surgery fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.
