About Dr. York

Dr. York earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences (formerly the Medical College of Ohio) in 1992, and he successfully completed specialized training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1996. 

He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and maintains annual certification. ​Dr. York holds surgical specialization in pelvic pain disorders, endometriosis, high-risk pregnancies, minimally invasive surgery, and infertility problems. Prior to North Springs Ob/Gyn, Dr. York was an obstetrician and gynecologist working in private practice in South Carolina before he moved to Colorado Springs in 2004. 

Dr. York is a dedicated husband and father of three girls and spends much of his free time involved with their activities. He also enjoys camping and skiing with his family, running, and climbing Colorado 14ers with his girls.

Kacey Combs, WHNP-BC, is a women's health nurse practitioner at North Springs Ob/Gyn in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Kacey grew up in western Montana and received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she graduated at the top of her class.

Before becoming a board-certified nurse practitioner, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse for five years. Kacey practiced as a women's health nurse practitioner in Hawaii before settling in Colorado in 2022 with her family.

Kacey believes in empowering women of all ages by taking time to teach them about their bodies, reproductive health, and the role they have in their own healthcare.

In her free time, Kacey enjoys traveling, paddleboarding, hiking, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Dr. Russell, the founder of Center for Women’s Health, attended Yale University and Duke Medical School. She believes in care that weaves together the physical and holistic aspects of health. Meet Dr. Adelaide Packard - who left the sandy beaches of Miami to join us in the beautiful mountains of Denver, Colorado. Before heading to Miami, Dr. Packard attended Medical School in Rockford Illinois after leaving the Chicago area for her undergraduate program.  We know that she is no stranger to the cold and snow.

Dr. Frederiksen brings 27 years of education, training and experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology to ALFA Health, specializing in hormonal health and overall wellness. Born and raised in Colorado, she is at home in Southern Colorado since 2017. A diverse and deep background began with her BS, Cum Laude in Microbiology at Colorado State; MD, Alpha Omega Alpha at Creighton University School of Medicine; Residency training, Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Utah; Active Duty OB/GYN service with the United States Air Force and continued general OB/GYN practice until 2023. Dr. Fred now focuses on hormones, sexual health and overall wellness at ALFA Health. In her prior general OB/GYN practice, Dr. Fred became increasingly aware of the need for a more non-traditional focus in hormone health for women. Live the good life inside and out! After completing a 4 year Ob/Gyn residency she joined the University of Connecticut, Department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and completed a 3 year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. After her fellowship training, Dr. Smith has held academic appointments at Creighton University, The University of Nebraska, The University of Texas and The University of Colorado. Her academic and scientific background, plus her empathetic approach is a winning combination, much appreciated by her patients.
