She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the prestigious Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, where she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine and compassionate patient care.

Following medical school, Dr. McGowan completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She then pursued advanced fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, further expanding her expertise in the care of infants, children, and families. She is board certified in General Pediatrics and board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
