Dr. Willmott’s expertise includes the treatment of all gynecologic malignancies including ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulvar cancers. She serves as principal investigator on a number of clinical trials and is a member of the cervical cancer committee with the Gynecologic Oncology Group.  She is the Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at Banner University Medical Center and is the director of the oncology curriculum for the Banner residency in OBGYN.

About me 

I was born and raised in the picturesque state of Assam, India. I earned my medical degree from Gauhati Medical College, followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the esteemed Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India. Driven by a strong passion for Gynecologic Oncology, I moved to the United States to further my training.

My surgical training began with a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Henry Ford Health System in Michigan. I subsequently completed two fellowships: critical care fellowship and fellowship in gynecological oncology. Having always enjoyed the challenges of managing critically ill patients, I decided to pursue critical care fellowship which not only enhanced my critical thinking and problem solving skills but also made me better prepared to pursue a career in Gynecologic Oncology

I specialize in all areas of gynecological cancer such as ovarian, cervical, uterine, vaginal, and other cancers of the female reproductive organs.

In my experience, caring for patients goes far beyond making a diagnosis and planning treatment. In gynecologic oncology, it's just as important to understand each patient’s personal story, values, and how they view their condition. Taking the time to listen and connect allows me to offer guidance that’s not only medically sound but also aligned with what truly matters to them.

My care philosophy is rooted in balance—when a cure is possible, I’m committed to pursuing it with focused and comprehensive treatment. When cure is not an option, my priority shifts to preserving quality of life, providing comfort, and supporting patients and their families with compassion and clarity.

Tell us a few things about your personal life, such as family, hobbies, interests, etc.

I was born and raised in Assam, a beautiful state in northeastern India, where I also completed my early education. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to live and work in various parts of India, before moving to the U.S. in 2009 to further pursue my passion for medicine and healthcare.

At home, it’s just the three of us—my husband, our curious and energetic 5-year-old son, and me. With four languages spoken in our household, our son is well on his way to becoming a little quadrilingual! My husband and I both love cooking and enjoy experimenting with different cuisines together—it’s one of our favorite ways to unwind.

Traveling is something I truly enjoy, and I try to use my vacation time to explore both new corners of the U.S. and destinations abroad. I’ve also completed several courses in meditation and yoga, which help me stay grounded and centered, especially in challenging moments.

On a cool day, one of my favorite things to do is take long walks with my husband. We talk about anything and everything—life, food, nature, space, even soap operas.

 

Diana D. Heard, MD, is a board-certified OBGYN practicing at Glendale Obstetrics and Gynecology, PC in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Heard is a native of Detroit, Michigan. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in 2002. She completed her training in obstetrics and gynecology at Hurley Medical Center, a division of Michigan State University, in Flint, Michigan, in 2006. Dr. Heard is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2008, she decided to move from the cold winters in Michigan and join her new family at Glendale OBGYN. Outside of the office, Dr. Heard's hobbies include spending quality time with her family, exercising, cooking, traveling, and reading. Giuseppe Ramunno, MD, brings a wealth of experience to his role at Bethany Women’s Healthcare in Phoenix, Arizona. He also brings a dedication to ensuring that all women receive highly personalized, compassionate care.
