Gwendolyn Knuckles, MD, is an expert obstetrician/gynecologist and part of the team at Carolina Clinic for Health and Wellness. She provides excellent patient-centered care at the practice, which is in Greenville, North Carolina.
Dr. Knuckles received her undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She then earned her medical degree at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.
From there, Dr. Knuckles completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Keesler Medical Center at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Dr. Knuckles boasts over 20 years of experience treating women in obstetrics and gynecology. Her expertise is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
She’s also involved in many other professional organizations, including the Obesity Medicine Association (formerly the American Society of Bariatric Physicians), the North American Menopause Society, the American Medical Association, and the North Carolina Medical Society.
At Carolina Clinic for Health and Wellness, Dr. Knuckles strives to provide the best in personalized and patient-centered care. She takes a special interest in menopausal disorders, weight problems, and women’s health in general.

Dr. McGowan grew up in the Piedmont Triad area of NC and received her medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at ECU in Greenville, NC. She completed her residency and fellowship training at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC and is board certified in General Pediatrics and board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She is thrilled to join CCM as Medical Director, to continue serving the communities of eastern NC.
Kaavya is a rising sophomore at Boston University studying Behavioral Biology on the pre-med track with interests in child development, mental health, and women’s healthcare. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, she plans to pursue a career in medicine and is passionate about supporting underserved communities through healthcare, mentorship, and advocacy. At BU, Kaavya is involved in Kappa Delta Sorority and a reproductive rights advocacy group, where she enjoys building community and engaging in conversations surrounding women’s health and access to care.
Outside of academics, Kaavya loves exploring Boston, trying new restaurants and cafés, attending sporting events, and spending time with friends and family. She is also passionate about dance and enjoys both performing and choreographing, using creativity and collaboration as an important outlet outside of school and work.
