Dr. Castillo was born in Cartagena, Colombia, and was raised there and later in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Castillo’s medical journey began with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and a minor in chemistry from the University of Florida. Dr. Little was born and raised near Boulder, Colorado. She completed her undergraduate education at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in anthropology and biomedical sciences.

After receiving her medical degree at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center, affiliated with Mercer University, in Savannah, Georgia. Hayley Scholl, MD, FACOG was previously a clinical instructor in the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. During her residency, Dr. Scholl was chosen by her faculty and peers to serve as Chief Resident. She also served on the Memorial Health Wellness Committee, where she helped identify and address resident concerns. Additionally, she was a Resident Lecturer within the South University Physician Assistant Program, lecturing on topics in women's health to physician assistant students, and served as the Research Lead for the Program Improvement Project for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In June 2021, Dr. Scholl was recognized with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. She was recognized by the faculty for excellence in gynecology upon graduation from residency.
