Alyson Yashar, MD graduated from Brown University and NYU School of Medicine, where she was president of her class. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. She performed her eye surgery training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Dr. Yashar completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology, also at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and simultaneously received additional training in oculoplastics. She is presently an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at NYU School of Medicine and teaches at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Neuro-ophthalmology has a diagnostic and medical focus, concentrating on diseases like Multiple Sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, double vision, decreased vision, brain tumors, and unexplained visual loss. Many patients are co-managed by their neurologist, rheumatologist, or internist.
