About Dr. Jarjous
Distinguished podiatrist Rafi Jarjous, DPM, has dedicated his life to providing exceptional medical care to his patients. He is proud to provide care to the communities of South Lyon, Commerce and Troy, Michigan at Gentle Foot and Ankle Care.
Born in Syria, Rafi's journey is marked by determination, academic excellence, and a deep-rooted passion for helping others. His early years were shaped by a supportive and close-knit family community. His mother, a mathematics teacher, and his father, a skilled craftsman and sign maker, instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication. In 2004, Rafi's family moved to Michigan, United States, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start.
Driven by his intellectual curiosity and desire to make a difference, Rafi pursued higher education. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University. Fueling his ambition further, Rafi went on to achieve a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2020. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Rafi completed a rigorous three-year podiatric surgical residency program, specializing in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle training at Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan. This additional credential further fortified his expertise in diagnosing and treating various foot and ankle pathologies.
Throughout his academic journey, Rafi's leadership qualities and commitment to his profession shone brightly. As a class president for all four years of podiatry school, he served as a voice for his peers and championed their needs and concerns. In his residency, Rafi actively engaged in regular academic sessions and participated in an annual online lecture series, enhancing his knowledge and staying at the forefront of advancements in podiatric medicine.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Rafi treasures his role as a family man. He is blessed with a loving wife, and they eagerly anticipate the arrival of their first child later this year. Recognizing the significance of family, Rafi appreciates the support and strength it provides, both personally and professionally.
In his leisure time, Rafi indulges in several hobbies that bring him joy and relaxation. He finds solace in biking, relishes the flavors of a perfectly brewed cup of coffee, and occasionally immerses himself in the virtual world of video games. An amicable and sociable individual, Rafi enjoys hosting bonfires and game nights, fostering connections, and creating memorable experiences with friends and loved ones.
