Dr. Brett Sachs studied biology at the University of Maryland and earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Sachs completed his foot and ankle surgical residency at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, followed by an orthopedic trauma residency at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. Dr. Sachs is board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Sachs is Vice President at Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle Center. Dr. Sachs specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, arthroscopy, trauma, total ankle replacement, and sports medicine. Dr. Sachs is a nationally recognized lecturer and instructor of surgical skills workshops. Dr. Sachs has authored several textbook chapters in trauma, ankle arthroscopy, and surgery in addition to several publications in peer-reviewed clinical and surgical research journals. He has a special interest in cartilage restoration science, regenerative medicine, and trauma of the foot and ankle.
He is currently the Program Director for the Highlands-Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program. Dr. Sachs has held various academic appointments for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Sachs is also a Section Editor for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Sachs is a leader in his community and has served as Past President of the Colorado Foot & Ankle Society and Vice President on the Colorado State Podiatry Board. Dr. Sachs is currently Vice President of the Highlands Foot and Ankle Institute. In his spare time, Dr. Sachs enjoys golf, skiing, tennis, hiking, and running. Dr. Sachs also loves spending time with his wife, daughter, son, and dog.
Dr. Dustin Kruse has been part of Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle Center since 2011, specializing in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma surgery, sports medicine, arthroscopy, and total ankle replacement. He has extensive training and experience in both surgical and non-surgical management of the full spectrum of foot and ankle pathology, with a strong focus on returning patients to their highest level of function and activity.
Dr. Kruse was born and raised in Marblehead, Ohio. Dr. Kruse earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Master’s degree in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, before attending the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency at the Highlands/Presbyterian–St. Luke’s program in Denver, CO.
Deeply committed to education, Dr. Kruse serves as an attending physician for the Highlands/Presbyterian–St. Luke’s residency, where he also sits on the Residency Committee and previously served as Research Director.
Dr. Kruse is dedicated to advancing the podiatric profession on a national and regional level. He serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a past President of the Colorado Foot and Ankle Society. He has volunteered in multiple capacities for the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is also President and CEO of the Highlands Foot and Ankle Institute—a nonprofit dedicated to advancing education and resident training—where he has held roles including Scientific Chairman, Scientific Coordinator, and Treasurer. In addition, Dr. Kruse has previously served as Vice-Chair and Chair of Podiatry at Exempla Lutheran Hospital.
A former college football player, Dr. Kruse’s passion for physical activity fuels his commitment to helping patients return to the lifestyles they enjoy. He embraces the Colorado lifestyle with his wife and two sons, and in his free time can be found skiing, golfing, fishing, hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Matthew Paden is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon and President of Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle Center. Dr. Paden has over 30 years of experience providing foot and ankle care. He served as Residency Director for the Highlands/Health One residency program. He is the past president of Colorado Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Paden also serves as board member of Highlands Foot and Ankle Institute – a nonprofit, national surgical education program. He enjoys time with his family hiking, mountain climbing, and skiing.
Dr. Lauren Coe is originally from Toledo, OH. After high school, she attended Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI. During her time at Siena Heights, she was a collegiate athlete on the women's soccer team, published in two journal articles and won a national award for her scientific research. She graduated from Siena Heights University with honors and a BS in Biology. After college, she attended Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM) in Cleveland, OH. She graduated from KSUCPM with honors, an appointment into the Pi Delta National Honor Society, and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. Dr. Coe then went on to complete a three year surgical residency at Mercy Health Regional Medical Center/Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Coe offers both conservative and surgical treatment options for any ailments affecting the lower extremities. She has had comprehensive training in wound care, diabetic limb salvage, dermatology of the lower extremity, trauma, elective surgery, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Coe is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive/Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. In her free time, Dr. Coe can be found enjoying the great outdoors with her husband and dogs.
Dr. Kornblith is a board-certified podiatrist and Colorado native. She is proud to be serving patients in her home state by welcoming new and existing patients to South Denver Podiatry PLLC.
Dr. Kornblith obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Colorado State University and became a published medical researcher at the University of Colorado. Wanting more patient interaction, she redirected her passion for medicine. She earned her doctorate in podiatric medicine at Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She returned to Colorado and completed her podiatric medicine and RRA surgical residency at Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, serving Colorado’s veterans.
Dr. Kornblith is board certified through the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). She practices a team approach with her patients. A well-informed, collaborative approach is vital in providing the best medical treatment.
Dr. Melissa Hurwitz, originally from Syracuse, NY, is a graduate of D’Youville College in Buffalo, NY. She completed her doctorate degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and did her residency training at the world renowned Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She then went on to complete her fellowship training in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery and minimally invasive bunion surgery in Naples, Florida. She is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Throughout her rigorous 3 year residency training and additional one year fellowship, she received extensive training in managing all aspects of foot and ankle pathologies including; sports medicine, trauma, reconstructive and elective surgeries, limb salvage, dermatological diseases and pediatric foot pain.
Dedicated board certified podiatrist Jared Menchin, DPM serves patients in Lakewood, CO and the greater Denver area at LEAP Foot and Ankle Specialists pllc.
Originally from New York, Dr. Menchin received his bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University prior to earning his doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. During his time there, he was a scholarship recipient and was recognized with multiple awards, honors, and leadership positions.
Dr. Menchin then completed an intensive three-year residency training program in foot and ankle surgery at the Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Long Island, New York. Dr. Menchin’s training included foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, elective forefoot surgery, sports medicine, complex trauma of the foot and ankle, wound care, and diabetic limb salvage.
He is married to Dr. Melissa Hurwitz and they have two children and black lab named Harris.

Dr. Meghan Morgan (Blanchet) is a board-certified podiatrist dedicated to providing unparalleled quality of care, personalized for every patient. Through evidence-based medicine, she aims to provide quick relief as well as identify solutions for long-lasting results. Dr. Morgan is passionate about proactive and preventative foot and ankle care, and strives to empower her patients with thorough patient education. Since every person has different goals and life circumstances, Dr. Morgan believes in working with patients to develop a personalized treatment plan oriented to individual patient goals.
Dr. Morgan completed her podiatric medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in southern California, where she earned several awards and scholarships, and graduated in the top of her class. She completed her residency at Inova Fairfax Medical Center in northern Virginia. At Inova, she performed over 1700 procedures, receiving extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery including ankle arthroscopy, adult and pediatric reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery including minimally invasive techniques, limb salvage, total ankle arthroplasty, as well as trauma and reconstructive plastic surgery. She has co-authored multiple research posters presented at national conferences, and remains committed to staying at the forefront of her field. Dr. Morgan is ABFAS board certified in foot surgery and is board certified, ABPM. She was originally drawn to podiatry and sports medicine through her experience as a Division I collegiate runner at Gonzaga University.
