In addition, he is the Residency Director of the Podiatric Medical and Surgical Resident Program with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle at Kent Hospital.
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Glod has further specialized in complex reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in addition to working with limb salvage in diabetic and high-risk patient populations. Using technologies like ringed external fixation, total ankle implants, and the latest in technology with internal fixation and ortho-biologics, he has been able to pioneer techniques in limb salvage that few in Rhode Island or in the New England area have ventured.
Dr. Glod previously served as the Chief of Podiatry, Director of Podiatric Residency, and Chair of Credentials Committee at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, as well as a clinical assistant professor at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Robert Grondin, DPM, is a skilled and highly trained podiatric physician at Premier Foot & Ankle Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He brings over 15 years of experience caring for patients and performing foot and ankle surgical procedures.
Dr. Grondin received his Bachelor of Science in biology at Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts, in 2001. He then earned his doctoral degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2005. Dr. Grondin completed an intense three-year surgical residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA, in 2008.
Dr. Grondin grew up in Maine, and when he was an undergrad, he knew he ultimately wanted to become a specialist but wasn’t sure which specialty it would be. “I chose podiatry because it is a very hands-on field, and it’s also especially gratifying for me if we’re able to alleviate a patient’s pain in just one visit. That’s what makes being a podiatrist special.”
Dr. Grondin is board-certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (FACFAS) and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS).
When he isn’t busy helping patients, Dr. Grondin enjoys spending as much time as he can with his wife (Dr. Suzanne Grondin) and their two boys, visiting his home state of Maine, and enjoying outdoor activities such as going to the beach and hiking. He also likes playing golf when time allows.
