David Lintner, MD, is an esteemed leader in the field of orthopedic sports medicine. He has two private practice locations in Houston and Kingwood, Texas, where he treats adults and teenagers of all backgrounds and activity levels, from youth athletes to older adults who want to enjoy an active life.

Dr. Lintner specializes in the surgical treatment of injuries to the shoulder, elbow and knee. He strives to help patients avoid surgery whenever possible, however, when surgery is the best option, he performs high-quality procedures using minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques whenever possible. Dr. Lintner refers patients to other physicians when he determines advanced nonsurgical treatments such as physical therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy and stem cell therapy would be a better fit. 

As the Houston Astros team physician for thirty years, Dr. Lintner is well-known for his extensive expertise in orthopedic procedures such as Tommy John surgery (ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction), ulnar nerve decompression, labral repair, throwing injuries, and rotator cuff surgery, Dr. Lintner has a special interest in treating injuries of throwing athletes and is happy to review your MRI if previously scanned. With decades of experience in professional baseball, Dr. Lintner performs more Tommy John procedures than any other orthopedic surgeon in the Houston area. He uses innovative technologies, including the Arthrex® internal brace and the BioECM® amniotic membrane graft for Tommy John surgery. You dont have to be a pro to benefit from these procedures!
