Second time we increased the light minimally and I can really see a huge differen... Read more I’ve had 2 IPL services with Vanessa.I purchased a package of 3. First time we had to do it lower intensity, because I haven’t had an IPL done ever. Second time we increased the light minimally and I can really see a huge difference in my spots/freckles. Many are very “coffee ground” like in appearance, which is exactly what you want when you are doing IPL for spots. My pigmentation spots are being a little stubborn so just crossing fingers next session will lighten them up. Full disclosure:I had the sunburned feeling a bit more intensely than I was comfortable with when she was doing the treatment and we stopped and didn’t do a 2nd pass which normally would be what she does. Having said this because I was not comfortable, I spoke up and Vanessa listened. She stopped the IPL service and took into consideration my needs. Applied some soothing balms and asked me to wait so she can see how my skin behaved over the next 15-20 minutes. The reason is because my skin reacted much more strongly this time and was an unexpected result. I definitely want to say the “ no pain, no gain “ mantra isn’t what you should be aiming for with IPL when it’s being done. Rubber band like snaps are what you should feel. Later on within 3 hours all of the sunburnt feeling had left my face. The slight redness decreased considerably. Again, read up on it for yourself. You should go into any procedure informed. I’m really excited to see what my 3 rd session will be like and my before and after images. If you’re thinking of doing IPL with Vanessa go ahead and pull the trigger. She’s thorough, safe, and very interested in helping you be your best. Also, don’t feel rushed to get it done and over with quickly and think you need to feel intense burning. This is absolutely not the way IPL should be. We all have heard horror stories about people getting permanently injured from IPL. The reason is because someone went too far with the powerful lights that is IPL. It’s not worth thinking you will be saving money and time and going full out!! Stay safe and use trustworthy DKMedSpa and specifically request Vanessa (who is an RN fyi)for her thoroughness and dedication to patient safety.
