Dr. A. Michael Coppa is a board-certified, experienced obstetrician-gynecologist offering a variety of women-focused services at his OB/GYN practice in Cranston, Rhode Island and Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Coppa has been in practice for more than 25 years, focusing on overall women’s health and wellness and high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Coppa has delivered thousands of babies and is highly skilled in a variety of surgeries using minimally invasive robotic technology, like the da Vinci® surgical system.
Dr. Coppa values the many benefits of one-on-one care at each visit. He meets with all his patients personally to ensure they receive the highest quality medical care possible. He is known for his excellent bedside manner and individualized care plans for conditions like infertility, menopause, endometriosis, and abnormal uterine bleeding.
Dr. Coppa earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, part of the Sisters Charity Healthcare System in Cleveland. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

My exam was less than 3 minutes (entering room to exit). No discussion of if I had issues or asked for concerns. I had to stop him from leaving to say I was having difficulty and wanted to discuss the issue. He stated generic solutions. Then once I stayed I tried that he quickly (didn’t let me get the words out) switched to RX. No discussion or potential side effects or normalizing of the concern. I received my annual service and he was done. I could have done the Pap smear at this rate. Sad, there was zero patient care. Thoroughly disgusted. Not sure how he treats the obs but I did see a confused pregnant woman when coming out of the bathroom asking what to do with sample. No signage, direction, and medical assistant looked blankly at her before responding. FYI- worked in an ob office. Never would have treated the patients this way. Neither would have the doctor. If you just need the job done with no questions, then this is your place.

They have friendly staff. They explain the procedures adequately. Complete your tasks before the visit, the doctor reads everything. The communication of information is excellent. The doctor was knowledgeable about my medical condition and the reason for my visit.
