Dr. Afanwingong Lafon, NP-C

I am here to support you. I am an ANCC board-certified psychiatric mental health Nurse practitioner and an adult-gerontology Nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Maryville University. I endeavor to provide individualized, patient-centered and for each individual’s mental health goals as well as help them achieve a full life while incorporating cultural awareness in each individualized care and plan. My dual certification allows me to attend to each patient utilizing a holistic approach. She provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management with particular attention to individual needs, including each patient’s personal history, specific context, stressful or traumatic life experiences or circumstances, and particular concerns about or fears of medications. She approaches each patient with patience, warmth, understanding, and helpful explanations that facilitate treatment.
