Alexander Feoktistov, MD, is the Founder and President of Synergy Integrative Headache Center and a nationally recognized expert in migraine, headache disorders, and interventional headache medicine.
He also serves as Medical Director of the Comprehensive Inpatient Headache Unit at Ascension Saint Joseph - Chicago,
where he oversees the care of patients with severe, refractory headache conditions requiring inpatient treatment.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with Highest Honors (Summa Cum Laude) from the Moscow Medical Academy, where he completed his neurology residency and later received a PhD in Neurology. His doctoral research focused on medication overuse headache (rebound headache) - a topic that remains central to his clinical and research work today.
For his academic excellence and clinical research, Dr. Feoktistov received a Presidential Award from the President of the Russian Federation, granting him a prestigious fellowship of his choice.
Dr. Feoktistov completed advanced subspecialty training in headache medicine at the Diamond Headache Clinic, where he worked directly with the legendary Seymour Diamond, MD.
He later completed a Pain Management fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
From 2011 to 2020, Dr. Feoktistov served as a staff physician and Director of Clinical Research at the Diamond Headache Clinic.
He has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, co-authored nine book chapters, and presented extensively at national
and international headache and neurology conferences.
In 2015, he received the National Headache Foundation Lectureship Award.
Since 2019, he has served as President of the American Interventional Headache
Society.

Dr. Feoktistov is knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. He has been treating me for migraines for more than ten years. Prior to becoming Dr. Feoktistov’s patient, I was in the ER multiple times a year, and now I have fewer than one migraine (well controlled with rescue medication) per month. Life changing.
