I was diagnosed with melanoma on the bridge of my nose in Oct.2021. I was referred to Dr. Hendi for a Mohs surgery which was done on Nov.22, 2021 two days before Thanksgiving. My body reacted to the procedure as expected with face swelling and bruising. Eventually that went away. Dr. Hendi and the nurses are just a phone call or email away for any concerns or questions I have. I sent photos of the wound and they examined it and advised me what to do or make an appointment to be examined in the office. Religiously I followed the instructions on how to care for the wound. But my healing process was complicated by a bunching of the skin creating a thick scarring. Dr. Hendi was always reassuring. After a couple of Kenalog injections to the area, the scar improved tremendously but he's not satisfied with it so he did another shot on the last visit. Thank you Dr. Hendi for caring and for your expertise. Thank you too to all the nurses who assisted you specifically Helen. God bless you all.

Ali Hendi, MD, is a widely recognized skin cancer specialist who has been caring for patients in the Washington, DC area for over a decade. A double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Hendi opened a state-of-the-art surgical facility, dedicated to the treatment of skin cancers, in Chevy Chase, Maryland in 2008. Since then, he has performed over 20,000 Mohs surgeries and reconstructions. He is active in the medical community as an Associate Professor of Dermatology (Clinician Track) at Georgetown University Medical Center. He is involved in resident education at the Washington Hospital Center Dermatology Residency Program.
Dr. Hendi’s academic endeavors also encompass research and publishing, with over 20 peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters, including Atlas of Skin Cancers. He serves as a reviewer for the journal Dermatologic Surgery and is a frequent speaker at national and international meetings. He has been a primary investigator of two research projects related to melanoma diagnosis and is the inventor of the Hendi-Frazier and Hendi-Roth skin hooks. Additionally, Dr. Hendi regularly appears in television and print media, advocating for regular skin cancer screenings and sun safety.

I was provided with adequate information ahead of time so that I could plan to bring snacks and work to do. The waiting room was comfortable. The staff were polite, friendly, and competent, and I enjoyed working with Dr. Hendi.
