I love seeing Alison each time I have my visits with her. I come every month and in between seeing Dr. Wickersham, I see her. She is so caring about EVERY aspect of my care and me personally. She is beyond what a provider should bShow moree like with their patients. She listens to her patients and does amazing when explaining your plan of care and treatments. I feel so comfortable sharing anything with her and I feel confident leaving my care in her hands. I 100% recommend her to anyone who needs an NP between their routine rheumatology physician visits. They work together so seamlessly as a team.

About Dr. Polston
Alison Polston, FNP, DNP is an experienced, board-certified family nurse practitioner at Arthritis Associates in San Antonio, Texas.
Alison graduated with honors from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she earned a doctorate degree in nursing. She is passionate about rheumatology because it gives her an opportunity to use a holistic approach when caring for her patients.
She understands that autoimmune diseases are more than a collection of physical symptoms. Her focus is to provide emotional, social, and mental health support for people 12 and older and help them achieve a better quality of life.
Dr. Polston maintains her board certification with continuing education sources. She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Dr. Polston is originally from Ecuador and is bilingual in English and Spanish. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and dogs, traveling, dancing, and reading. Dr. Polston enjoys caring for all of her patients and welcomes them to Arthritis Associates.

Alison is more than a caregiver. She relates to her patients by encouraging inquiry and supportive positive feedback. She, like Dr Wickersham, answers questions that were and were not asked with genuine regard and concern. Her enthusiasm is infectious and up lifting , a time out from what could be chronic pain and accompanying depression.
Alison is one of the Best Nurse Practioners i have ever met she is very patient and kind and is an excellent example of how to represent her Physician Dr. Pendelton Wickersham. This is the Best Rheumatology Practice in Town.

As always my experience was nothing but positive. I travel 4 hours for my appointments and I feel it is totally worth it. Just like Dr Wickersham, Ms Polston was knowledgeable and informative. She was kind and compassionate. She took her time to make sure my questions were answered. I am very happy with my care. I would recommend this facility without a single reservation.
