Ms. Polston is an excellent member of an extraordinary arthritis group. She is knowledgeable and concerned which is a wonderful combination. About Dr. Polston
Alison Polston, FNP, DNP is an experienced, board-certified family nurse practitioner at Arthritis Associates in San Antonio, Texas.
Alison graduated with honors from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she earned a doctorate degree in nursing. She is passionate about rheumatology because it gives her an opportunity to use a holistic approach when caring for her patients.
She understands that autoimmune diseases are more than a collection of physical symptoms. Her focus is to provide emotional, social, and mental health support for people 12 and older and help them achieve a better quality of life.
Dr. Polston maintains her board certification with continuing education sources. She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Dr. Polston is originally from Ecuador and is bilingual in English and Spanish. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and dogs, traveling, dancing, and reading. Dr. Polston enjoys caring for all of her patients and welcomes them to Arthritis Associates.

I've been a patient of Dr Wickersham since approx 2016. I'm so grateful to have Dr. Wickersham, Mrs Alison and team taking care of all my medical needs. I see Ms. Alison more than Dr Wickersham, but I feel he is looking over our visits. If I have an medical concern or need refills, the patient portal is a great tool. The team is quick to answer and address my needs/concerns. I would definitely recommend this practice, if you want quality care. *The lab techs and infusion department has the best techs. I wish I could have all blood draws or IV started by the Pro's!! Keep up the great work!!
